Agree.

Happy for the p1ss to be taken but I know the family and speak to his dad regularly and the middle brother (Dan). Would love him to join but it won’t happen ……….
Do you regularly talk to Chelsea fans? Heard they were Chelsea through and through

Wonder if Hayden Hackney is the alternative.

Plays fast, forward, energetic and quite combative.

I don't know how close you are to them, and they could very well be completely honest, but it also wouldn't be a weird thing to say to people outside the family, if their priority is to stay at Chelsea. Especially when it concerns a potential move to a London rival. Saying, "oh, well, he's open to it if he really has to leave," that would probably not go down too well with their fans.

I just struggle to see why we would come back for him again and again like this, if they have shut the door that firmly.

Edit: Btw, I'm not trying to question your information in any way @Silky Skills . But very interested to know if you've thought about what they've told you, in this way.

Have we ever seen a transfer rumour that has gone on for so long? This is consistently in news articles for over a year and many are written as if it was the first time being mentioned. It's a bit strange to me

I also think football as an industry is really dynamic. We often find in here that people get upset with ITK because they put too much faith in it being the last word rather than a snapshot of an ongoing situation.

It might be easy for Gallagher and his family to say he won't join Tottenham whilst it's all purely hypothetical. But what happens, for example, if Chelsea are pressuring him to leave and his alternatives are Spurs and e.g. Palace? Does he stick out in the reserves until his contract expires because he's a Chelsea fan or does he move to a smaller club than Spurs because he loves Chelsea. In other words does he potentially jeopardise his career because he's a football fan?

Maye he does, but he would be an exception I think. When it comes to the crunch, the majority of footballers will do what's right for their career, especially if the club they are so loyal to is actively trying to move them on.

Of course this is all speculation. And maybe Gallagher and his family have been given assurances that he is a part of Chelsea's long-term plans.

Exactly, look at Declan Rice. Playing for Ireland (20 caps including 3 senior), now England.

Do we know if we've been back in for them this summer? I think it's purely speculation from SC members because they sacked Poch? I may have missed something

Thats what I thought but I think the BBC had a snippet saying we were planning to put a bid in when the window opens.

I mean we'll soon find out but if there's no intention from the player to join we certainly wont be wasting time bidding.

If you are talking to them directly, then that is pretty definitive.
But it's strange what you hear. Last window, my son was told, also supposedly via brothers of CG, that he had agreed terms with us and was awaiting the clubs to deal (which obviously didn't then happen).
Personally, I doubt very few transfers get canned purely because of club loyalty, as players don't think like fans in the same way.

Pretty sure I've seen a couple of reports, but I guess it could very well be bullshit.

This is a very good point, and one I think a lot about every window with rumours flying around.

And it's not only in football, but generally in life. Hell, I change my mind trying to decide what to eat for breakfast five times before even reaching the kitchen. And these kids have to make life-changing decisions involving more money than most can't even dream of. Thing can change a lot, and they can do so rapidly.

Not doubting your info however his dad and brother are not the player and it will be up to him to decide on his future. If Spurs are in for him and offer him a good package and it's better than he is being offered elsewhere he will likely go to Spurs even if his family would be up in arms about it. It's just a job to players.

Don't ignore his agent in all this. If he is a good one he'll be advising him what is best for his career and will be completely ignoring his families club loyalties.
