Erik Lamela suffered a torrid first season in North London, but he looks to be on the mend as he posted a tweet with the message, "I'm really looking forward to this season, come on you Spurs!!"

Me likey, me likey a lot. Some enthusiasm from that camp was well overdue, and has surprisingly given me a big mental boost for the pre season.

Good lad and smart move. Get's the fans excited and generates some buzz for when we all get to see him in the first pre-season friendly.

He couldn't have a better person in charge now in Poch. High hopes for Lamela, gonna be like a brand new signing.

Got to say, I cannot wait to see how he performs at the Lane this year. Very good move heading home over the summer to build his body strength up. I feel quite confident that Poch will be able to get the best out of him.

Roger that Erik... the path has been cleared for you to operate! Toughen up, get some guidance under Poch and really fly! We've got your back!

That's not really giving me a boost tbh, I would expected all our players to be up for the season, especially those new players who did not perform in their first season. For a story to built around a tweet saying 'I'm looking forward to the new season, come on you Spurs!' Is really kind of lame.

Yeah!

Unless he gets a full length tattoo of the Spurs emblem across his chest and starts the first game naked with blue and white war paint all over his body I don't see why this is newsworthy ;)

I'd love someone to photoshop that.

I can't help wondering whether he is going to be one of those players like Taarabt, Giovanni or Falque who look better in Spain and Italy than they ever did wearing a Spurs shirt. Running through a parked bus Premiership defence without exceptional pace or strength requires someone special. Hopefully he is.

Really hope we've put him on the Bale diet. He has enough pace to beat a man, but appeared to lack the strength to then hold them off last season. Looking forward to seeing what he can do!

I'll repeat what I said on another thread as it's relevant to this article .
One ex-player who is a very regular visitor to the training ground at Bulls Cross says Erik Lamela is THE most skilful player on the training pitch , even better than Eriksen.
IF Mauricio can get him to realise his potential this season we will have a fantastic and very exciting player in a Spurs shirt.
For all our sakes , let's hope so!

Was kinda hoping he'd bulked up to Hulk-esque proportions. Because that's obviously what it takes to succeed in the PL.

A photo of him holding a side plank isn't going to get me bursting with enthusiasm just yet...

... even so: Go on Erik!
