I was there that day. The only 'saving grace' is the fact that the journey home was nowhere near as long as a trip back from places like Newcastle or Boro.

Me too. I went past the ground in 2015 and still shuddered at the thought of thirty odd years prior.

Yes. If we see that we're once again playing like we did a few years ago, then yes. Who else do you suggest we get in that is available and is an upgrade on Poch?

I’ve already mentioned Allegri and Mourinho. Both clear and obvious upgrades. They might not come but might be worth sounding them out.

Would you have given a shit about it if we won it?

I’d love to win it, but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s a distant last in terms of priority for all top clubs, particularly those in Europe.

Every big club uses their squad players to get through the early rounds, that’s why you tend to see the likes of City coast through so easily. Clearly, our squad isn’t quite at the same level, but we knew that already.

Poch is, undoubtedly, the best Spurs manager I’ve seen in my lifetime (I’m 32).

By the same token of appreciation, Harry Redknapp was also the best Spurs manager I’d seen in my lifetime at that point.

As was Martin Jol before him, IMO.

They both inevitably hit their ceiling and moved on, leaving the club in a much better place than they found it.

The Champions League final has masked what has been an objectively appalling year for both the club and Pochettino in every other regard. It’s about time we seriously considered the possibility that he, too, has hit his ceiling, and it’s time to move on.

This isn’t a knee jerk reaction to tonight. I didn’t see the game, and I wouldn’t call for a manager’s head on a spike for a cup upset. All the big clubs have one every few years.

This just seems to be where we’ve been heading to since January with no sign of it turning around.

Still loved the football under Redknapp! The board not giving him the signings he needed when it counted, prevented that being our best period!

Interesting to see Xavi say he wants to manage in the Prem, i’ll give fucking anything a go at this point

Xavi named us as a 'big' club he gave an example he'd want to manage actually, which was nice.

"Obviously if I had to choose, I would choose a big team, [Manchester] City or United, Chelsea, Arsenal or Tottenham."

I think you're asking a lot when he's literally only just played his first minutes of the season, out of everyone he is the only one to come out without me cursing their existence so hopefully he can kick on.

It was hope, not expectation. Your point is well taken.

I'm not disagreeing totally but the first half display against Palace was really good. Our problems are from lack of pace from the wings. I bet if Sessegnon had played at LWB in the game tonight we's have done better.

If I played at LWB we couldn't have done much worse and I am a 62 year old right footed ex goalkeeper

Oh dear. Lose on Saturday and I think the natives might get restless.

"get"?

Think we're a bit past that. Elements within the club have been agitating to get Poch out since August. Now the fans are on board.

We will sack the bloke that gave us the identity we now expect. What happens next is anyone's guess.

The League Cup is totally beneath us and Poch with our glorious histories. It isn't beneath Guardiola, Mourinho, Ferguson, Pellegrini, etc. but WTF have those losers ever achieved.
To be fair though, all those you listed had country sized budgets to work with, so thay could challenge on all fronts. Poch has to pick his priorities.

Poch reportedly didn't leave his house for 10 days after the CL final if I were him be best off bolting the door down and forget about being seen at all. Oh no sorry that's me and you lot for the abuse we are about to receive. The old Tottenham is back it would seem absolute embassering dross ?? if this doesn't make Kane want to leave I don't know what will. As pointed out before our form was a papered over crack thanks to our CL run now it seems we are hurtling to rubble. I want Poch to turn it round but this is his ultimate test I blamed VAR last time round this time no excuses dreadful the vultures for Soton circle now.

First of all can people stop mentioning Alex Fucking Ferguson when mentioning Poch. Poch isn’t going to do what Alex Ferguson did, he was a one off. Poch isn’t going to suddenly turn us into a club who dominate English football. Its mental that people compare the two. Utter delusion.

Also, can people stop saying we need our new signings to settle before we judge Poch? What about the other 24 odd players in our squad who should be well engrained into a pattern of play and tactical system yet look utterly clueless? Do people seriously think our new players will come in and make a big difference when the whole squad are playing abysmally and showing huge signs of regression? Football doesn’t work like that. NDombele and GLC and a kid in Sess will not make fuck all difference to the side. Poch does not and should not get time to bed new signings in when the players he has had for years are playing so poorly.
