I feel sorry for Sky. They spent around 60 hours straight reporting on this and after all that, they haven’t got the story they wanted... I think they might’ve just done enough to tar our name though so fair play to them. I wonder if they’ll spend the next 60 hours reporting the result of all this and getting experts in to talk about that too.
I believe Rudiger simply misheard. I had a feeling straight away Spurs fans would be proved innocent of all the allegations. Not because it doesn’t happen, just because I’ve been going for 39 years and never heard a monkey chant once. I’m relieved of the result either way. It was the ‘who let the yids out’ chant, I’m sure of it.
It probably needs to be said that Rudiger has to be a little careful now though because that’s twice his allegations have proved inconclusive. If this happens again then people may write him off as a liar even if it was a genuine mistake again and that will give the racists a chance to talk shit whenever there is genuine abuse. ‘Well if Rudiger can lie then others can’ etc.
All in all, well handled by Spurs and I’m extremely glad the allegations haven’t been proven.
They had that chubby reporter on SSN talking about it and he was struggling to hide his displeasure that nobody was found guilty. He just about stopped short in saying it had been covered up but that seemed to be the insinuation. He was peddling the line that if nobody was found guilty then why would players report abuse in the future.
