It's funny reading so many comments trying to downplay Poch's achievements and using that to say he will fail at united.

There is one thing he has at united that he never really had here - money. He will be starting with a much more talented squad than he inherited with us, and have the ability to buy the highest quality young players in gaps that need filling. The players will love him, just like ours did, and his style of play will endear him to the fans. I really don't see him failing despite how many of you are trying to convince yourself otherwise.

Much more talented squad how so. The only players who got added to the squad that are noteworthy are Toby Alli and Son and they were added the next summer. Dont think you can say hes getting a more talented squad by going there. Hes getting money thats about it.

I don’t think he will fail there but if he thinks dealing with Levy was hard, wait until he gets in the hot seat there and is having players bought for him. He wanted full control with us and took a while to get it, he won’t get that there.

Probably a good thing for them actually in terms of players coming to the club. They’ll just need to stop him throwing his toys out the park about it like other managers there have.

Whilst we're on the topic of opinions which will shit in the cornflakes of some. I find it sad that a good number of you need a trophy to validate what has been one of the most exciting periods of time to be a spurs fan and can't appreciate that doing that whilst we were in the midst of a stadium rebuild is a fantastic legacy to leave behind. Without a shadow of a doubt the most exciting period of being a spurs fan in my lifetime since Spurs was forced upon me in the womb.

Although I agree with you on the above, I think the pull United had to go with the money is now gone. They will have to pull some serious wage strings to bring in the talent of the required level to put on the United shirt. Make no mistake, they are still the biggest club in England regardless of their on field performances. This is slowly falling away too, however if they get Poch in and he gets the players he wants, he could turn them into serious contenders once again. Anyone who denies that is just being cynical and salty.

I wish him all the best regardless of where he goes next, because he brought me some of the best football experiences of my life.

Compare our squad from 2014/15 to Utd's squad now and you'll see it.

Poch doesn't even need much, if they're able to get players like Grealish, Maddison and Sancho and they could easily do it with the wages they offer plus the attraction of playing under Poch then I can see them progressing.

Assuming he gets the job.

He’ll be working under a different set of requirements too. We loved him because he got us champions league football, anything else was a bonus. The CL run was a freakish thing, again, which we never, ever expected and the ride was fun, even if the final was a waste of time.
He will get much more money to spend at United, but with it comes huge expectation. Massive

His record of buying players isn’t exactly stellar either.

I don’t think he will fail if he ends up there, not what I’d call failure anyway. Then again I don’t think Jose failed there whereas many do. Make no mistake, success for him at United, in most people’s eyes, is multiple trophies. He failed to see us over the line when we had a better side than those in our way ( Leicester, United and Chelsea in semi finals ), and right now you’ve got Klopp and Pep doing their thing.

It’ll be interesting to see how he goes in his next job. I’m not convincing myself he will fail, I just really hope he fails ( in the premier league )

Sancho, yes. The other two? Nope. They need De Bruyne levels of player to win the big, big prizes. Grealish and Maddison are nowhere near that level and I doubt very much they will be.

They can certainly attract the level of player required though, I do agree there. United are fvcking huge. The biggest club in the country by a distance. If Poch gets the job and gets it right...it’ll be gutting?

Absolutely. I’ll love him less if he comes back to a rival team, and hate him entirely if it’s Arsenal or Chelsea of course, but he did a fantastic job for 80% of the time he was at the club.
The club sacked him though, he didn’t walk, despite him clearly having some doubts over the last year he was here. We hold no rights over him.

In an ideal world he goes to Spain, cleans up every trophy domestically and we beat his team in a CL final thriller! Legacy intact?

No they don't, Liverpool don't have a De Bruyne level of player and look at them. To win you need to build a team and a club going in the right direction.

You’ve really got to no vision if you can’t imagine how a talented manager and some momentum could turn around that club very quickly.

I can imagine it, but then there's empirical evidence that two of the world's highly-rated and successful managers, van Gaal and Mourinho, could not, nor Moyes or Solskjaer, and I'm not convinced it will be so easy for Poch.

Both Van Gaal and Jose’s remit was to win, and win now, though. United have now realised they need to rebuild and reset which should suit Poch down to the ground.

I’d say Van Dijk, Mane and Alisson are very close to being on De Bruyne’s level.

Not for me...anyway the point is about building a team not having individual world class players - no reason why Poch couldn't do it - he did it at Spurs with less resources.

This was a mistake and it will bite us for a long time. Levy’s clueless
You, in November:
It got to the point where Poch really had to go. I was more angered over the timing as this could and should have been done a week ago. I love Poch with all my heart and honestly, I would not be too shocked if we see him again on our touchline in the future but this had to happen now.
