Daniel Levy statement in full

"We were extremely reluctant to make this change and it is not a decision the Board has taken lightly, nor in haste.

“Regrettably domestic results at the end of last season and beginning of this season have been extremely disappointing.

“It falls to the Board to make the difficult decisions - this one made more so given the many memorable moments we have had with Mauricio and his coaching staff - but we do so in the Club's best interests.

“Mauricio and his coaching staff will always be part of our history. I have the utmost admiration for the manner in which he dealt with the difficult times away from a home ground whilst we built the new stadium and for the warmth and positivity he brought to us.

I should like to thank him and his coaching staff for all they have contributed. They will always be welcome here.

“We have a talented squad. We need to re-energise and look to deliver a positive season for our supporters.”

Wow.

Sad but necessary. The right decision. And I’m glad it happened before things got worse and fans turned against him.

Thank you for the memories and the good times. A key figure in the history of the club.

Sad but it was coming. We've been shit for a year in the league and were just getting worse.

I can only guess there was some player power going on, otherwise it is slightly strange to wait till after international break

I’ve been vehemently Poch out for most of the season, and completely agree with the club’s decision, but it’s still sad that it came to this.

I’ve no doubt we’ll look back fondly on these years, hopefully from a place of even greater success, and see that this was all a necessary part of the process.

So sad it ended like this. But that's spurs isn't it.

Always be thankful to him, I'm 27 and he's given me the best years supporting spurs if my life.

I fucking adore you Mauricio for all you've done for this club. This seemed inevitable but fucking absurd. He knew we needed a rebuild. You didn't do it for him. Fuck you Levy.
