Harry just said on Sky that he “knows for a fact that he (Poch) thought he had the Man Utd job last year”.
That's around same time some itks are saying things started to turn.

He's the best manager I have seen at spurs but it was the right choice IMO to part ways as I don't think it was salvageable.

He will go on to a club that will back him better financially but with that comes greater demands / expectations so be very interesting to see how he handles that.

Best of luck Poch thanks for the memories and the great nights

I was in the Poch In camp, and have been avoiding all Spurs news for last 24 hours. Just too raw and gutting.

Understand decision, prob wouldn't have made it myself, but ho-hum, here we are. No recriminations, just enormous gratitude to Poch and his team for all they did. Fuck me though, it's sad.

There's no doubt the Utd speculation unsettled Pochettino at the time. There may have been some sort of approach. I'm sure Fergie and him had many a good chat.

In time, everyone will realise the magnificent job Poch did. I know most do, but some of the words I've read on here during his bad run were unbelievable e.g. incompetent, loser, get out of our club etc.

Got us consistently challenging with a net spend of £109m over his 5 years with us. This equates to £18m per season and it's not like we had a Coutinho like sale either. I don't think there's any manager who could've achieved what he did on so little money, not Pep, Klopp, Allegri or even Jose.

Bye Poch, thanks for the unforgettable memories, now for Jose to get us over the finishing line.

People forget the spine of the team he made so good was already there. Lloris, Rose, Vertonghen, Walker, Dembele, Eriksen, Lamela, Kane. 8 players that Poch relied on a lot, 6 of which are still a team the club, still starters pretty much. Yes Poch did a great job but let's not kid ourselves that he had to completely gut the team out and work magic. He added excellent trimmings to a group he inherited and struggled to replace them with adequate quality when they got a bit too rickety for his system.

I will forever have adoration for the guy but I saw no signs in our style or strategy that made me feel we would see drastic changes. He just got too many things wrong in the transfer windows and the old guard he relied on so much well they got old. A couple of gems, a couple of solid foot soldiers and a fair few duds will inevitably bring the quality levels down, which we have seen.

Pretty random thing to lie about in a public forum. He alluded to it yesterday as well without being as specific as he was tonight.
The whole sorry episode where our press guy had to step in and stop the media asking him about the Utd job, whilst Poch just sat there flashing his knickers at them, was awful to watch as a Spurs fan.

It's starting to make a bit more sense now...no wonder he lost the dressing room.
If Harry Redknapp knew, then the players must've known.

I don't think Harry lies - think he believes he's telling the truth. As much as I like him, he lives in a magical world. One with fairies, fantasies and dogs that open bank accounts.

Had a read on the United forums where some are talking up Poch to be the next Messiah and others are unconvinced.

Anyway, saw a stat that the top scorers under Poch are Kane with 169, then Son with 75.

Makes you wonder what would have been without Kane and where those goals would have otherwise come from.

It'll start with players begging him not to leave. Then once he punishes players for doing the same (flirting with other clubs), they'll start to turn.

So when he bombed out Walker the players would have started to see the contradictions.

I wouldnt be surprised if it's why certain players never extended their contracts.

Our big-money striker signings, obvs.

I think it was Chadli, but I always wondered why he bothered running with Soldado only to be useless at the same time tbh.

But yes, we wouldn't get them from Janssen either, as it goes

Mourinho is the past not the present. If we got him 15 hrs ago great but he has been found wanting since winning the CL with Inter. Those who love Jose should be forcible next made to watch that match forever
