I don’t like the players and their social media Goodbyes. Why not just text/call the guy rather than sharing with the public?
Maybe, just maybe they have done so and also posted on social media too? It is possible..

I saw people moaning about some players saying nothing on social media and so evidently they cannot win either way anyway.

It is actually so no one can make lazy assumptions on fkn social media. Why is he not saying goodbye? Was there trouble? Does he care?
Welcome to our society nowadays.

I've been waiting for this to happen and this is partly why I've been Poch out especially recently but basically some one-off ITK I was told about from a friend who until recently worked very closely with the players. Verified with @Archibald&Crooks and @Rob

He basically said 9-12 months ago about the behind the scenes issues.

Nothing groundbreaking but some bits below:
•At the time the environment at training and behind the scenes with poch was fairly toxic
•Poch is a complete control freak and at times players felt like it was almost like a prison with his rules and strange mannerisms and many players were starting to grow tired with this environment and his strange moods and decisions
•A number of players were upset with him for dropping Lucas for the CL final
•Poch hated certain players who he'd just freeze out and not talk to, usually the typically English 'laddy' ones like Trippier especially as he didn’t like the fact he drank so often and was a bit chavvy etc, he basically didn’t talk to him most days and only played him because we had no one else, again this kind of behaviour started to unsettle the group (explains why Trippiers confidence was shot all last season and why he left in the summer)
•He basically said that he could see our form continuing to get worse and the CL run to the final was masking the behind the scenes issues and that this coupled with Poch flirting in the media with other jobs etc was only going to end one way soon.

So all nothing groundbreaking but similar to other previous ITK this has been a long time coming unfortunately :(

So it’s out of date ITK so to speak but I didn’t want to share it back then as it was quite sensitive like the Trippier stuff etc, but now it’s happened and he’s out I thought you guys may be interested to be aware of a few of these things and that not all was 'Rosey' in the Poch garden for some time and that it wasn't just a case of Levy not backing him and that Poch kind of engineered his own downfall so to speak which is a real shame given what he did for the club.

Cheers for posting that, really interesting. Makes me think a change for any manager will bring positive results. Let's hope so anyway.

The Trippier thing annoys me, he seemed like such a nice guy, despite his limitations as a footballer, but you could tell something was up with him.

I think, as we can see with how well he's doing at Atletico, that his limitations were directly proportionate to the problems he was having.

The guy they replaced him with is most noted as a manager for getting Cardiff relegated. Not really a fair gauge. Ole could be in trouble soon because their record is pretty atrocious too and maybe Poch or Allegri goes there which is a better gauge.

With Poch's direct first hand experience of the EPL, common sense would say United would be mad not to approach him first, if and when OGS get's the old heave-ho but they'll have to make their move soon because a manager with Poch's profile won't be out of work very long.

I'm just wondering what the Chelsea fans make of the latest developments at THFC. West Ham were laughing at us and loving our chaos so I'd really love to shut those pikey fuckers up. It's going to be their cup-final this Saturday, so please God, let's ruin their day. Horrible bunch of twats.

He seemed the contrary to me. Always pointing the finger at others for his own mistakes

Ooh look,

I think, as we can see with how well he's doing at Atletico, that his limitations were directly proportionate to the problems he was having.

It’s similar to a player being hung out to dry by his manager, which Mourinho has been accused of (and has done so) except this is behind closed doors and then the player is played in games and expected to perform at 100%. Unfair on the player, his team mates and us fans who’ve no idea why the player is under performing. Maybe there’s others in a similar boat hence the drop off in performance.

Really interesting info, and explains a hell of a lot, thank you for sharing.

It won't be enough to pacify the Pro-Poch fundamentalists, of course, who are acting as if the guy has just been sacked without explanation in the middle of a title race, and therefore will assume you're lying, but for most of us it's good to hear.

“In Jose we have one of the most successful managers in football. He has a wealth of experience, can inspire teams and is a great tactician. He has won honours at every club he has coached. We believe he will bring energy and belief to the dressing room.”
Levy's quote says so much isn't it? So not him. Just doesn't seem to imply the dressing room is all that peaceful, which there were already some rumours that broke out.

I don't see it that way.

I think he's done exactly what he's had to do. You don't sack a manager like Pochettino unless you're going to go out and replace him with the best you can get and although there are people who will disagree with me, Mourinho is the best that's available.

Now he has to back him. Not stupidly, with unlimited amounts of spending but within the limits they would doubtless have already agreed.

If he does that, then for me, he's shown ambition and although I'll criticise him when I think he has it coming, where this is concerned I don't see how he can be blamed for at least trying.
Great post. Easy to forget that we could easily he sitting here with Howe as a wholly underwhelming new manager to start a new "project".

Whatever you think of Mourinho, he's a winner and, personally, I think he could transform the "plucky loser" attitude that has been pervasive at our club for the last few dozen years. If that means giving some of our players - and Levy - a kick up the arse, I'm all for it.

Will be interesting to see what he does next. A lot of comparisons drawn to Klopp at Dortmund - players just run into the ground, stale, not listening anymore.

Wonder if he learns from this and takes the next leap as a manager. Just hope it's not in England.

Saw an interview a while back with Mourinho in his home town. I think we'll be getting a new Mourinho if he comes. He was explaining how he's refreshed, been studying new systems of working and so on. So if he comes I hope people have an open mind. We may not be getting the surly defensive-minded Mourinho many think. We might but ... Let's stay open minded.

Hercules has just alluded to the same thing. Fingers crossed. As long as we Don't get the defensive, surly, poisonous Jose that was at Man U.

Mate you changed your avatar to Mourinho within minutes of his announcement. Some may be over emotional but you’re pretty much on the opposite end of the spectrum. I would be very scared to be left alone in a room with you lest I get knocked out and wake up in an icebox with my spleen and bladder gone.

That isn't over emotional mate, its drifting dangerously close to RAWK territory now.
Needs nipping in the bud before we get the poems and people painting pictures and shit.
