I literally cannot handle all these feels.

I’ve just come from receiving my first-born in my arms, and 15 minutes later I get a text saying Poch has been sacked.

So many different feelings all at the same time...

I cannot at this time articulate anything more than, it is a fact that the seasons under Poch have been the far most enjoyable in my 20 years as a Spurs fan, and by God, I hope my newborn son grows up with a Tottenham to be proud of.

total embarrassment of a football club.

we had it all going for ourselves. Best young manager around, one of the best strikers in the world, hungry young squad, a real connection between manager-players-fans, a stadium that was/is the envy of the world.

with all that going for us we managed to fuck it right up.

I'm so upset and angry right now, i don't even care who they appoint.

You may want to read Trix's post in the GLC thread. If you trust his ITK, it sounds as if it is what's best for the club. I loved Poch and was a PochIn guy but if this is true, then this may not be the disaster that many of us feared. (He basically said that there would be more players leaving than staying if Poch stayed.)

Well it looks like a lot of you don't realise that football club manager is a human being. He can lost his motivation, passion, ideas. You can give him best players and it will still look bad. I'm suprised and sad but it was right decision. Poch wasn't the same as 2-3 years ago. It's very possible that he will be succesfull in his next club, but it will not mean the club was wrong to sack him. He burnt out here, I'm okay with that and will only remember good memories cause there where so many of them.
Exactly this, just like one of us in a 9-5 day job after 5 years some people just want out and I think that was the case with Poch from a while back and the CL run was an unexpected bonus which kept him motivated BUT levy has a lot to answer for as well.

Agree with the THST board there. It was a very weird time to sack him. Why not do it after the SU game then? So we'd have more time to find a replacement. Or they could already have found the replacement

At this point we have no idea what has happened and what Levy/the board have done. Just wait and see I suppose.

And NONE of this was down to a Poch right ? None of it ? I personally don't think his behaviour was acceptable. I support THFC - not any player, manager

I know it's naive but people are talking about Levy's budget. Is it inconceivable that he's just been a tightwad during the preparation for and construction of the stadium and now the purse-strings will loosen somewhat? For most of his stewardship we've only known penny-pinching but that was a means to an end and now we might see a more competitive approach. Of course, we might not, but we might. We've already seen wages go up far and above the old wage-structure.

We already saw it in the summer.

And loads of people keep saying Levy will need to open his wallet if we sign Jose, but Poch wasn't exactly shopping in the bargain basement over the summer.

I think we already have his replacement signed, sealed and just waiting to be announced.

As for the timing of Pochs sacking, surely can’t be a coincidence that Levy and Poch were reported to have had a crunch meeting yesterday and Poch is sacked today

Yep. I don’t know why everyone is confused as to why it’s happened today. I think it’s pretty obvious. Writing was on the wall this morning with all those articles appearing at the same time. Happened the same with AVB like I posted last week. It’s followed the same path.

I surely hope so mate. That's the only thing that makes sense.

no of course I'm not saying none of it was his fault......but you need to refresh the squad continuously. If you don't you get to a point where you need to replace the entire backline all at once and several players are running down their contracts.

it was so so good.......how did it get to be so so bad so quickly.

Exactly. I know Lo Celso was only a loan but him and Ndombele were 2 players in demand and Sessegnon is clearly on his way to being a star. Throw in the fact that players like Fernandes and Dybala were being linked to us and people weren't pissing themselves laughing and I think Levy might surprise a few (in a good way this time) over the next few windows.

And that's absolute class from Dele. I know he's got a lot of stick but he was obviously off the pace after breaking his hand last season and he came into this one injured and just hasn't got going yet. Some of the players deserve critcism but he's not one of them imo.

I have been coming away from games for the last 10 months since the Fulham away game last feb and thinking mostly that we have not been good or have been lucky to win that game with a few good games but not many .
This has been coming a long time and only our champions league route to the final stopping this happening and because of my admiration of Poch I have been in denial and see this decision as something of a relief as I honestly could not see us winning anytime soon .
Whoever is in charge they would have to go some to do worse than what we are producing at the moment and as I say its a relief .
You would hope almost any reasonable manager will improve our form as it would be difficult to get worse.
As I say I have loved the Poch tenure but all the signs are we needed to change and even if its Mourinho I hope the true fans will get behind him with vocal support.
