So the two biggies in Spain and Roma, under new management with itchy feet over Fonseca ...

Dragon1 regarding Poch's next job on COYS:
It’s Barca , I tried to hint as much as possible when others suggested juve and Madrid last week

Poch agreed to go there about three weeks ago , not signed but there was a verbal agreement that he would join once they exited cl , was asked not to say anything but now it’s in the papers I’m comfortable confirming that’s what I’ve been told

That's one way to get de Jong.

I thought he was a die hard Espanyol guy? Never Barca. That’s like him going to Arsenal. Very surprised by that.

I reckon after getting sacked by Levy he’s just like ‘fuck it I’m going to do me from now’.

Hope it’s true! Fair play to him.

Also, though, who in their right mind turns down Barca?? He loves the city, often went back ‘home’ there. He has Messi. Camp Nou (Nou Camp, never known why these words were switched in the late 90’s!). Possibly the biggest team in the world. The youth set up.. I mean. Wow.. Well done to him. I loved the guy, adored him. He lost the plot and it went tits up. But, good luck to him. I’m just surprised it’s Barca, I’m sure he even said he’d never go to Barca. But, ya know, all the above.

Happy for him if true, its truly the perfect fit for him and his family.
I think Barcelona is the worst possible fit for him if I’m entirely honest.

If Poch thought we needed a painful rebuild, hes in for a massive bloody surprise at Barcelona. Messi, Suarez, Pique, Vidal, Busquets, Rakitic and Alba all into their 30s and then the likes of Griezmann and Pjanic pushing 30. That’s nearly the entire first team. Pochettino’s style would absolutely kill them.

Not to mention the fact Barcelona have absolutely no money to spend to help this rebuild. He also won’t have the time or patience he was given at spurs.

Would be a massive risk for his reputation tbh.

It'd be very very similar to when he took over at Spurs, but obviously with a much higher profile in every aspect. It's one thing to fuck Emmanuel Adebayor off out the door, another to tell Luis Suarez to do one...

Hes coming into one of the biggest teams where the whole world knows theyre in a state. Their players are in interviews saying the whole club needs restructuring. Everybody knows their board is inept.

They just got humiliated with their worst defeat in their history and didnt win anything. On top of that everybody knows theyre financially screwed. There is no better time to come into a big club and get a free pass for a season.

Look at Chelsea, Lampard managed to take his team from 3rd to 4th and be labelled a hero because he was under a 6 month transfer ban which still allowed for them to add pulisic and kovacic. In certain circumstances, the media will give you a bye.

And my post was mostly referring to culturally he suits barca and his family love barca as they fuck off over there every chance they got.

Barca having no money is akin to Madrid having no money. Not a problem for creative accountants, and the airspace three inches above the pitch has no sponsor yet...

Poch's your Uncle.

I think pochetinno has his own style of players already at barcelona .... In defense, he needs another fullback with emerson coming back for right back next season ... If pique, umtiti goes, he might go for another defender... Midfield and attack got full of Pochetinno style players... Frankie de jong at the base with riqui puig and coutinho other two midfielders ... Then he might use messi as primary goalscorers with griezman(whom he wanted to sign for spurs back in 2014) and dembele/trancao rotating options ..

Also they will have pjanic from next season ... They need to let go pique, busquets, alba, suarez, rakitic though ... But they already have rakitic replacement in the mould of pjanic, Frankie de jong is busquets replacement ... So they need alba, pique and suarez replacement ... They can bring enough money from selling players to buy pique replacement... pochetinno is smart enough coach to bring 30+ goals from messi and use suarez sparingly next season ...

Semedo despite having a poor game yesterday is pochetinno style right back .. they will also have emerson from next season ... In left back they have alba and junior firpo ... Both are attack minded, pochetinno style full back....

Centerback is the place where pochetinno actually needs to buy ...

Midfield they will have frankie de jong(busquets replacement), riqui puig(Pochetinno is huge puig fan and wanted him at spurs), coutinho(espanyol connection and we wanted him last summer), pjanic ...

Pochetinno can perfectly play his preferred diamond formation at barcelona as he will have lot of technical midfielders at his disposal now and attacking full backs who can join the overlap in attacking transition as well ..

Emerson - new cb - lenglet - alba
---De jong---
---Pjanic - puig---
---Coutinho---
Griezmaan - messi

I don't think its all doom and gloom for barcelona if they hire pochetinno as they already have lot of Pochetinno style footballers at their ranks ...
