Apologies. You get my point though. He ain’t coming back. It may well be that Jose isn’t going to be at the club by Xmas if results don’t improve (sadly yet more transfer budget down the drain in compensation) but we will be getting someone else. It won’t be Poch.

You don’t know that. You didn’t even know we drew. How am I meant to take your advice now? Good day to you Sir! Your reputation is shot!

Ah, shots... I remember them...

Yes, I admit, I did make a twat of myself saying that we lost. I don’t know for certain that we won’t get Poch back but this thread is more about people not being happy with having Jose. I’m sure that you backed Poch to the end (I mean that genuinely, I’m not being sarcastic) but he was getting pelters over his attitude, the book, his demeanour, his massive reluctance to make decisive substitutions and the pedestrian football at the end. He was also pissed off that his increasingly unambiguous calls for backing were going unheeded. Nothing has changed enough to make me think that he’d want to come back.

He’s said he wants to come back. No time frame admittedly.

Poch was burnt out having to work through the circumstances that Spurs operate in, the same as the players which has left them mentally drained and looking like they need a 3 month break rather than just coming from and it's the same mechanics that will be the downfall of Jose. At a certain point those who defend those upstairs will have to acknowledge we are on a negative slide.

Therein lies the rub - It’s hard to imagine the current circumstances dictating that Poch would come back at this point even if DL sanctioned it.

I think that we have to forget the idea of ENIC selling up and the idea that any significant injection of cash would be forthcoming in the short term. DL in sacking Jose would be saddled with yet more compo to pay out, which means anyone coming in being even more hamstrung and even if they or Jose wanted to sell Kane to generate some serious cash for transfers, it’s hard to imagine it being sanctioned.

You’re forgetting the most important part. Amazon documentary plot twist. We wake up one morning to find Poch in the shower, the whole year has been a bad dream and we’ve got Liverpool in the Champions League Final.

Obviously, being Spurs, it’d still all turn out the same way.

i'm not going to say that we shouldn't have parted ways or deny that things had become stale towards the end, but I will say that we took him for granted at our best, particularly Levy. I don't know if it would have changed anything but I do know that throughout his time here we should have given that man whatever he wanted, full faith and no questions asked.

Yes. Friendly reminder that Poch saw the writing on the wall and knew we were in for a tough rebuild and although we spent big on Gio and TN last summer it in no way made up for years of underinvestment. Anyone who wants or continues to pedel anything negative about him is utterly wrong he wrung every last ounce of ability from us, was continually let down by Levy with the likes of Nkoudou and Jansen and even in his worst ever season he still got us to a CL final. And people wonder why some will go the depths of hell defending him.

I think Pock was screwed by the style or way he wants his team to play and how long new players take to buy into it and get into it.

He had to superb talented new signings in GLC and Tanguy but because of the way he wanted to play, it took them quite a while to really get into it.

His style of play works better when he has young players who he can mould rather then experienced pros like Tanguy and GLC and even Sissoko and Lamela who he had to break their habits and rebuild them

His rebuild would have required us 2-3 years out of contention while he build up a new batch of players to play his way . I think Levy could not afford it with the new stadium so went for Jose
