We can confirm that the Club has appealed against the length of Rodrigo Bentancur’s FA suspension, issued earlier this week.

While we accept the guilty finding against Rodrigo by the independent regulatory commission, we believe the subsequent sanction is severe.

Cue 14 game ban.
I don’t understand why the club takes the blame and not the country. Yes it was wrong and certainly in today’s line of thinking, shouldn’t have been said.

I know it’s wrong.
But in my thoughts so is the fact that the club suffer the result

I've been making this point, it seems illogical to me that we as a club and by extension it's supporters are included in this punishment.

He wasn't playing or representing the club when he transgressed so why must we suffer from the consequences?

For me it was a personal sin perpetuated by an individual and the individual should solely bear any sanction.

Agree totally, what’s it got to do with Spurs? He’s just an employee, if he negotiates a peace deal between Russia and the Ukraine, Spurs wouldn’t get any credit

Just to follow this thought through cos it amuses me…
Basically they’ve said to Bentancur “Right you made an oopsie, so you will still get paid your usual salary but you mustn’t do your job for 7 weeks.”

And this is somehow meant to be a deterrent? Sounds like it’s actively encouraging us to be racist!

Not sure about still being paid, I know that the Newcastle fella who got banned for a year for betting wasn't paid by Newcastle during the ban. Whereas Ivan Toney was paid by Brentford during his ban.
Fuck knows 🤷‍♂️
