They are a mess financially, A HUGE MESS20% for €45m. That means Atletico Madrid are only worth €225m, which is about 172m pounds. Seems quite low for a club of that stature.
Unfortunately for them and every other spanish club not named Real Madrid or Barcelona, they dont even get a fair share of the TV money from La Liga to help with the debt. Last year, they got £118.6m each. The next highest? Valencia with £37.6m. The bottom 5 each got £14.1m.They are a mess financially, A HUGE MESS
It was only 2 seasons ago they couldn't afford to pay their players wages and were near half a billion in debt and thats not a typo

Compare that with the PL. Liverpool got the most with £74.1m(we got £71.1m and City got £71.9m). The bottom 5(Hull, Brom and the relegated Cardiff, Norwich and Fulham) each got £60.8m.

Not sure why Real and Barca are allowed to negotiate personal tv deals. But that's gotta stop. Even though Sky essentially acts like Liverpool's mouth piece, Liverpool dont get an absurd amount of money more for it.
La Liga's is? Thank god. Only way to promote more parity in that absurdly top heavy league is to give clubs more of the tv money to try to make them more competitive. The deal is being renegotiated
Well it is the case. Very well known they are bankrolled by the gov't.I think Barca & Real also get tax breaks which basically amount to state subsidies somehow, not sure of the mechanics of it but I think it's broadly the case
It's because they are classified as sports associations rather than businesses.I think Barca & Real also get tax breaks which basically amount to state subsidies somehow, not sure of the mechanics of it but I think it's broadly the case
