All the talk of not signing a good striker because no one will want to play second fiddle to Kane......... Kane is odds on to be injured like this from now on. Who's to say the new striker won't be the main man.
We know its a ridiculous argument. All the top sides have 2-3 options, like with most other positions.

One quick question then I'm out. Short of reading 98 pages of posts, was there a single positive to come out of today? The BBC report would suggest not.

Dave is starting to look like the player we bought originally (imo ... I'll probably get slated for this, the end of the world is nigh)

I think realistically the season is pretty much over. If Son or Kane were coming back soon, then maybe there would be hope. That's not happening though and as such, we seem to be screwed based on last three games.

Poch was right and Levy didn't listen. I think he is at fault more for who he didn't get rid of rather that who he didn't bring in. The contract extensions for Toby and Moussa were ridiculous given their age. Eriksen situation should have been taken care of much earlier. Recognizing players that are not up to snuff like Dier and selling them when they still have value hasn't happened in a long while. That being said, the 18 months of no transfers in is still ridiculous and will likely never be repeated ever by a Champions League level club.

I just hope they decide to get Parrott and maybe Skipp into games here down the stretch because honestly, I don't think it can get much worse that it is right now. At least give the fans something to be excited about, as the style of play we are watching is beyond dreadful (not blaming Jose but it is what it is).

I think our "Golden Era" is sadly passed. Our best player will be 27 next season and has had significant injuries in seemingly each of the past three or four seasons. Our second best player in Son will be 28 at start of next season and perhaps is due to slow down. We need a LB, RB, DM, a backup CB, a backup striker, and perhaps another pacey winger. We also have quite a few players that are too old (Sissoko, Toby, Jan, eventually Hugo) or not good enough (Dier, Aurier, maybe Winks) that need to be sold. How this all gets done in a speedy manner with Levy in charge is beyond me.

I just keep thinking we had our moment as a group with Poch and the young players we had and we simply blew it. We didn't push on when we should have. Now we have a manager that is a known grouch and will likely not be here more than a year or two. We went from having one of the brighteat futures in the league to one that is a lot bleaker. It's all just quite sad.
But muh stadium.

I thought Sanchez was Very good today Infact our best player . Ndombele was fecking awful.for the first 20mins or so he strolled around like he was playing in his back garden.lo celso gave everything but we was mauled in midfield due to carrying ndombele.chelsea pressed us hard and we couldn’t cope.mason mount was like a dog with a bone and tore Davies a new one.stevie boy played his heart out but had no support and often had two players on him.moura was a waste of time, Lamela chased and harried When he came on but the game was gone by then. That was my view from inside the ground but might of looked different on the box

Kane out is massive.

But we all knew we'd be toothless with Son out as well.

I think Wolves will do us next weekend

Makes sad but truthful reading. It becomes clear where the bulk of the blame lies; and it isn’t with Poch or JM. Chronic neglect of the 1st team squad. They are completely spent.

We can slate JM like some on here did with Poch but the constraints within which both talented very different coaches have to work with is clear. JM is making the same comments as Poch over a year and half ago. Don’t see much changing which is the most depressing thing.

Moura is great if you give him a couple of yards round him to get the ball under control and run with it, but as soon as he is pressed he loses it

There is a common denominator involved with all of this an ever present one.

your post makes me sad.:(
Sorry - makes me kind of sad too. Here in the states, I never had a problem getting up early at 7 on Saturday morning to watch because I enjoyed it. Today I knew I was drifting off on couch, falling back asleep and didn't care. It's not fun to watch anymore. The game Wed - I used to be super psyched for the CL games. I felt more of a dread going into Wednesday's match just because I knew how it would likely go (and that was confirmed in first five minutes of game).

I have only followed Spurs for about seven years (starting when AVB was hired) so I don't know all of the history and past matches that were important. Watching Poch's teams however were among the best times I have had following any sport. Madrid at home in CL, the Man City and Ajax games last year - I'll never forget those. But looking at things realistically (and with Levy still in charge), it just feels like it's over. And I have absolutely no hope that Mourihno is the one to reignite another special run with a special group. I hope I am wrong but I think Levy's rep has clearly been established and I can't see him changing his spots all of a sudden.

Feel much the same. The football has been dull for a year and a half. Season ticket holder since 1978 (shit I’m old). Seem to spend more time selling my seat on the exchange than going this season. Just not worth the drive getting there, spending £20 to park 15 mins from the stadium, watching crap and sitting in traffic half the day. And as I said above, I don’t blame the managers.

And the less said about VAR.....not even sure if a rare goal can be celebrated until 3 minutes after it hits the net.

Just have to accept in head to head against Chelsea that they are the better team, they outplayed us for most of the match today and they outplayed us at The Lane when we had Harry and Sonny on the pitch ( Son only for 62 mins) . We are still in the hunt for 4th just 4 points off, if we could just get Lamela fit enough to last the first 60 minutes of a match things could change as he certainly brings life into the team .
