On the plus side looks like N’golo Kante is out which can only be a good thing. Potentially Abraham still out as well. Talk of Christensen missing it as well with a broken nose but I imagine he’s more likely to play in some sort of mask/face protector. Just a shame that Giroud and William seem to always do is damage as well!

Abraham is supposedly fit and Christensen will apparently play with a mask. Loftus-Cheek is fit enough to make the bench. :nailbiting:

One of the players recorded Mourinho's dressing room pre-match talk on wednesday. Here is the transcript:

".....so remember, let them do whatever they want for the first hour. Don't bother to press high or close down their space in our half. Just make sure that you block their shots and, if you don't, Hugo will bail us out. We won't have the ball very often, but when we get it they'll press hard. So just kick it long for the fast lads to chase and that will give us a breather before they come at us again.

With any luck, it will still be 0-0 after about an hour and I'll probably make a change or two. When I do, you can start to pass to each other and move into space, that kind of thing. You'll have to put pressure on the ball then because we should have more possession and we'll be playing higher up the pitch.

Okay, got it? Good. Let's go"

I'm expecting more of the same against Chelsea.
Yes but we need to save legs - 3 games in 8 days coming up.

Chelsea go 1-0 up after 32 seconds.

We are shit the next 89 mins but somehow Hugo keeps their 38 shots out.

In the 80th minute, Skipp comes on for Dele, everyone loses their shit.

90th min, Skipp scores a 30 yard worldie.

2 mins extra time.

In the 94th minute Lucas finally breaks free from his marker and puts one in through Kepas legs.

Scenes.
Spoiler alert

Not optimistic. It’s a team effort now. Everyone has to pull together. A draw would be a good result.

RB Leipzig had their entire back 4 out, and we still got spanked.

In Vegas for Fury-Wilder.

Getting up at 4 is going to be a pain.
Hope it’s a good fight. Re the game: Welcome to my weekend. You get up at the crack of the sparrow’s, feel filthy, watch the game, feel even f$&king worse. Go about your day. You’re in the right place to make the pain go away, mate. COYS!

If it's the same long ball tactics against back 3 like vs Leipzig or Chelsea last time they will destroy us.

Chelsea actually do better against teams that try to pay against them, it’s why they’ve had some half decent results against the better sides and have dropped lots of points against teams that turn up solid and looking to exploit mistakes.

Still think we’ll struggle to get a result today though. Our starting XI will lack any hint of balance. The midfield and attack is a total mishmash

What a game in context of of things. Hope Dele plays centrally, his strength is bobbing up and scoring and bringing others into it , can’t do that on the wing. COYS

The way we let teams attack and create chances against us from the get go means I can’t see any other result than a loss. We’ll probably let them score 1-2 goals in the first half and then fail to get back in the match because we are missing Kane/Son.

We have to try and stop Mount and Willain running at our back four ,unfortunately the DM issue keeps poping up ,Worthwhile giving Tanganga a go at it?
He is physical mobile and looks like he can take and listen to instructions.

Kovacic will be key for them I feel. He’s starting to make things tick now he's adjusted to the Premier league.

Hope we play with intensity, we only seem to have a real go in fits and starts.

I think we're going to need someone brave enough to keep hold of the ball at times. No panicked hoof ball is going to see us acquire any points.

Opportunity to overtake them, just hope we turn in a performance that reflects this.

COYS!
