It's got a sort of inevitably about it, like yesterday
Yesterday? Not really. Every one was delighted with the line up, the players that were dropped, the players that were in and the fact we might be in with a chance - 10 minutes in and the tune changed.

Let's not pretend that everyone had an eeyore cloud hanging over their head prior to the game yesterday.

Maybe, but certainly in the days after Leipzig I think there was a huge eeyore cloud . Perhaps some were initially enthused by the team selection but then the match started

Lets face it we've gone from slow, turgid possession football with no end product to, slow turgid counter attacking football with no end product.

This group of players looks done, Poch knew it (maybe he was to blame for it?) And I'm sure Jose is coming around to that realization too.

We have a bad mix or luxury players, one paced players, players with limited or hit and miss technique, whose aptitude and attitude have come into question for the past 18 months.

Not a healthy mix.

I wouldn't want to be the one that tries to turn that around...

Agreed although turning around Gemma from TOWIE is a harder job.

tbis is the most significant change of the season for me.
That joy in looking forward to the next game is no longer there.
It’s a very tough watch at the moment :-/
On their website the BBC described Tottenham's play as "joyless". Sadly I have to agree.

Jeans left and Jose is the new scapegoat!

I wasn’t too happy about the appointment but he’s here and I’ll get behind him as I did with Poch when things went south.

Levy is the complete opposite to a scapegoat! In my opinion he’s the reason we’re even having this discussion. I just can’t understand how we could achieve what we’ve been longing for for so many years only for the club not to maintain it. This shit isn’t new, so blame Jose as much as you want but the common denominator in our failures has been Levy. Don’t get me wrong, Levy has done well for us with the new stadium and training facilities but when it comes down to the raw football he has failed countless times. He should focus on the business side of things (NFL, boxing, concerts and so on) and get a DOF in place to take care of the footballing side.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

Has anyone actually said that?
Exactly, no-one has said it. Already a bit sick of reading comments about people being Mourinho apologists etc. No-one is happy about where things are at. Even those who think that Mourinho deserves time are not raving about the style of football or results.

All the talk of not signing a good striker because no one will want to play second fiddle to Kane......... Kane is odds on to be injured like this from now on. Who's to say the new striker won't be the main man.
[/QUOTE]

Parrot will be the back up to Kane.

Levy won't add another salary at least until the squad numbers have been reduced.

Son is more than able to stand in, it's just unlucky and unfortunate that he and Kane picked up injuries at the same time.

Aside from that no one worth his salt would come bench warm for Kane.

Certainly no striker with ambition.

But tell us what you really think @Trix ;)
In all seriousness do you think Jose will be a success or are you getting pretty tired of this style of football now?
Its
pretty should destroying to watch ;(
I think he was up against it this season with what he took over. Ill give him at least a pre season and a summer window to see what he can really do. It was always going to be a case of limping through this season no matter who took charge. Losing both Harry and Sonny long term has compounded this.

Looking back at this formation it's clear to see how they overwhelmed us is key areas. Having 2 attacking midfielders in our defensive midfield area just killed us. 3 centre backs to occupy 2 wingers disguised as strikers was easy. Tactically we failed.

Its worrying as its glaringly obvious when you see it like this, and future opponents will definitely set up like this.

It's a fair point but did we tactially fail if we don't have any competent CDM's to counter their attacking midfielders?

Did we tactically fail if we don't have a striker that can hold the ball up/link the midfield and the attack/score goals. Kane would have done all of those things. I mean shit, if we'd been able to get Giroud in January then you can bet your life we'd have done far better in this game with him leading the line for us.

The only players I'd want from that Chelsea team are Reece James and Giroud. That's it. The truth is that their team was just better balanced than us, playing at home and when they scored I just think our players know that we're gonna struggle to score.

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has said "racism won" after no evidence was found to support his claim of abuse from fans at Tottenham on 22 December.

Play was stopped during the Blues' 2-0 win after Germany centre-back Rudiger, 26, said he heard monkey noises.
On 6 January, Spurs said they and police had "exhausted" all lines of enquiry but could not "corroborate or contradict" the allegation.

Rudiger said: "They never get punished. In the end, I'm the scapegoat."

In a statement released on Monday, after Rudiger's latest comments, Tottenham said: "The club should like to reiterate that we fully support the action that Rudiger took in this situation, and we would encourage any player to do the same if they too are faced with this scenario in the future."

Spurs said they "remain open" to revisiting the investigation should any "any new information come to light".
Speaking to Sky Sports Germany after Chelsea's 2-1 victory over Tottenham in the Premier League on Saturday, Rudiger added: "I won't give up.

"I'll always raise my voice - but in relation to this, I'm alone.

"Racism has won. The offenders can always come back to the stadium, which shows these people have won. It's a disaster.

"I became a father last Thursday and you start thinking society hasn't come far enough in fighting racism, so my kids will probably suffer as well.

"If nothing changes, if kids don't get good education and parenting, we'll lose."

In statements issued in January, Spurs said they "fully supported" Rudiger with the action he took, and Chelsea also backed their player "totally and unequivocally".

The Stamford Bridge side added: "As Tottenham's statement makes clear, a lack of evidence does not mean an incident did not take place.

"It is vitally important we continue to encourage all players, whatever shirt they wear, to report racist abuse without fear of doubt or reprisal."

Six arrests were made following December's match as part of the Metropolitan Police operation at the fixture, but none were linked to the incident involving Rudiger.

Spurs said they were able to "track every fan" using cameras at their new 62,062-capacity Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and that any supporter found guilty of racism would "receive a lifetime ban".

The club said they had worked with professional lip-readers, and that all reports had also been reviewed by police.
"We are fiercely proud of our anti-racism work and our zero tolerance of any form of discrimination," added the Tottenham statement.
