I thought we wanted ‘top’ players, not those playing for piss poor La Liga sides.

What about Fornals? I've seen rumors he has a 30mil release clause.
I’ve heard that too (release clause). That would certainly be a more realistic option. Valencia are a very tricky club to deal with, it’s one of the reasons Gaya still hasn’t left despite all the big boys looking at him at some point and really he should have left to further his development. To be honest tho, I have given up wanting us to sign players. I read a report that Lo Celso was offered to us over summer and we turned him down and you know how I feel about him! But in response to your question. Yes we should be looking at him for certain.

Not sure it matters who we want. The clubs currently got no ambition/capability of signing them. I still believe signing a real top drawer player is beyond us and until that changes we’re never going to challenge on equal terms.

? 30 million... maybe twice that. To be honest I find him overrated and would much rather get Ferran Torres even tho he’s young and less experienced. Soler for me has suffered from being moved around to much, he’s more suited to a CM position for me but Marcelino prefers him as a RM. Valencia play a pretty standard 442. even if we did want Soler, Valencia won’t want to sell for anything near that little, he is one of their prized youth assets.
You make good points, as usual, re Soler. I follow Valencia and think he is a good player and he was linked last year as well. I doubted his suitability to the PL then and still do somewhat. I believe Marcelino prefers Parejo in the center because he carries a little more bite than Soler, who I think might get manhandled. I can't remember seeing him in a CM3 nor at the #10 but it is intriguing as Eriksen competition/replacement.

But as far as what Valencia wants money wise they don't have too strong a hand to play.

I don’t even think we need big name talent. I just think we need ether better scouts or someone at the head of the table who knows how to judge talent. torreira is the perfect example, anyone who followed Seria A could have told you how good he was and everyone in Italy wanted him. He was cheap and unknown in Europe and Arsenal got him for nothing, 28 mil I think. He would have been the perfect signing for us. Paqueta at AC is another one who already looks like the real deal, and they signed him for 34 mil euros maybe? Can’t rember exactly. There is plenty of talent out there for reasonable money, I just don’t believe we ether know how to find or how to decide on it.

Piss poor is both harsh and inaccurate. They would hand us our assess right now in a very lopsided draw probably. They got no goals in the side. We have probably let in as many as they have scored this season. That is not to say they are a bad side...or piss poor. People assumed they were poor because they were 15th when they played ManU in the CL but it was a false position and they are now much higher, almost in the European spots.

I don’t know anything about him but Google him and you will see he is attracting interest from Barca, PSG and Man City so I’m guessing he must be half way decent.

Agree and Praejo is loved by the club and a excellent play maker. Lovely player to watch. Your right about them needing money, I just don’t see them selling their prized youth asset for so little. Cancelo who I really, really wanted us to sign went to Juve for 40 mil and he wasn’t as highly regarded by them as Soler is. I seem to rember they turned down a huge amount for Rodrigo from RM over the summer but I can’t really recall the details. You will probably know more then me on this tho.

We should be looking to Leverkusen, worked with Son and Berbatov. Would love to see us sign Brandt and Haivertz.

100% would take ether of this two and Bailey. Also Paulinho is supposed to be an big prospect although I have only seen YouTube vids. Would take Havertz as an understudy to Eriksen. he’s clearly a very talented AM.

He averages 1 goal in 18 games... sounds like a perfect Eriksen replacement, not lol

Yeah, Parejo was the reply I mentioned via PM to the person that brought up Soler last year in regards to our needs. Too bad he is old-ish. I didn't put much stock in the 50M RM links last summer as I don't believe they could have turned it down. They spent a shitload in the summer bringing Diakhaby, Wass and Gameiro et al and finalizing xfers from loans for Kongdogbia and Guedes. We will see what they have to offload this summer without CL on the horizon for next year.

Cancelo's movement was dictated by Mendes though no? I believe his arrival (while mendes had his fingers in the Valencia pie) from Benfica and departure were as well even though he is not a client of Gestifute. Guedes' (overpriced) movement there was as well.

Think it’s fairly obvious we aren’t doing jack shit this window. But hey, there’s always the Summer, right?

Surely to goodness we are clearing out/buying players for the squad in the summer!!? Even the most positive poster on here would have to become a little concerned if nothing happens then.
