Can we take a moment to laugh heartily at Everton?

Time running out at last for Everton ? It feels like the season we got demoted. Several games where we got early goals, sometimes three goals, but still lost.

Feel for Everton. Decent club with a decent fans. Boy are they in big trouble though, think this is the season they finally succumb - relegation could offer a good reset however if they get it right.
Loyal, I'd give you that. Otherwise a bunch of whingey scallywags - being polite of course

No I think they get bailed out by the newly promoted sides. They are all so poor and naive. Dyche will nick random away wins when you least expect it I think. It’ll be a really bumpy ride and I expect more division between club and fans but I think they stay up. Last day job.

Unfortunately they’ll be fine. Surprisingly their fans are quite upbeat about the fact that they are actually scoring goals at the moment and are confident that Dyche can sort the defence when Braithwaite comes back next week.

I like Everton. Perennial under achievers (remind you of another club?) and fans who can still self depreciate (little choice!).

Premier league is weaker without them in it in my opinion. You need the local derbies.

Largely their fan base is correct. The fact they are scoring goals is a silver lining. Is Braithwaite due back?

It's not rosy though. They are obviously bang in the plop.

But a massive risk. The Championship is probably the most competitive league in England. They might be able to pull off a reset but they could also easily do a Forest, Sunderland, Coventry, etc. and sink further.

Fingers crossed for Everton, their fans deserve better than the people they've had in charge over the last few years.

Has this been approved by the FA/PL ? Or is it going through the old system where you just have to say you have lots of money but no one checks to see if that is true ?
As long as they pass the PL owners test , no criminal record, no bankruptcy etc , PL can't dictate who should buy a club and if Moshiri is happy he is getting paid what he wants for his shares that's about it.
If and when the Regulator gets in then new owners would have to provide a business plan but I'm not sure the PL do that, one of the reasons they opposed having a regulator.

I don't get why Everton fans tend to think Dwight McNeil is shit. I've always rated him and I've lots of other posters on here say they do too. Even before he scored 2 at the weekend his stats were really decent this season, yet Everton fans would still slate him.

He’s one of their better players, so god knows what they think of Ashley Young

They hate all of their players. The tone on their message boards the last few years is that the fans have kept them up by supporting the team and it’s not been anything to do with the players.

I think he could be perceived as quite timid and perhaps a luxury player which in my head goes against an Everton favourite like Seamus Coleman who would tackle his own nan.

I think he’s a really good player.

They’ve moved him central now so I’ve put him in my fantasy football team as he’s starting to get amongst the goals!

He’ll probably do nothing now as I put Dacoure in when he was scoring and assisting all their goals and he swiftly got injured than did nothing for the rest of the season when back lol.

Wholeheartedly agree. I was admiring our players on this graph and half-surprised, half-not surprised to see McNeil's stats backing up the eye test so far this season:
