Andros Townsend from his loan spell? Should we recall him, if we can?

I'm all for it if it's possible. I think he'd offer us a decent alternative on the right wing (I know he's not a right winger but neither are VDV or Kranky) with pace and he'll at least run at the opposition left back and cause problems.

I just can't cope with the thought of yet another insipid performance where we have no fucking clue and then move VDV to right midfield. My mind just explode just considering it.

So yeah, I vote for bringing back Andros if it's at all possible. Things can't get any fucking worse, so why not?

I'd sooner recall Falque from Southampton, in the brief Europa appearances I saw of him he looked pretty lively and had an eye for goal.

I don't see why we should, I couldn't see him having that great an impact if any at all. Especially on the right hand side. We don't need more square pegs in round holes.

I'll say it again, but we just really shouldn't have gotten rid of Pienaar, just fucking stupid.

Kinda ironic post seeing pienaar plays on the left

We missed Adebayor far more than Lennon in my opinion. That combination of VDV behind Adebayor is the difference for me.

Not really. My mentioning of Pienaar is related to him just being a decent squad player as much as it him being an option on the right. I'd rather have him there than VDV or Kranjcar and most certainly Townsend. Yes he's not primarily a right midfielder, but that doesn't make the decision to let him go any less stupid. Townsend on the other hand, completely different, we don't even know if he can perform well enough at the top level.

Maybe I should have said, we don't need any more square pegs in round holes that couldn't do a decent job, because that's what I feel Townsend would be on the right, I don't feel the same with Pienaar.

Piennar probably part of the Saha deal.
He was very average at best and I would be happy to see him sold.
Townsend has played on the right for us and has some pace but he's only just gone to Birmingham, I think.

Townsend playing RW is the equivalent of Walker playing there - a waste of time.

I'm pretty sure we nearly all agreed in Jan that if we come undone this season it will be because Ade is out (hence the urgency for us to sign a striker in Jan) - and here we are, a couple of months later and sat in that very position.

I like Townsend, I think he could become a very good winger - pace, two feet, has a trick, can put in a cross (although he needs to improve on this just a touch more) and has an eye for goal. Plus he can play right and left side (and in a very big emergency, fullback).

Seems to be doing pretty well at Brum, I think next season could see him integrated into the first team squad as the backup winger (note: this doesnt mean I think he is third in line for left/right midfield, more that if we play with two out and out wingers, he is the third option after Bale and Lennon)
