What have you done to Skipp
Skipp is on the club trained list, as would any academy players.

Looks like I'm in the minority but I think this would be a shrewd signing. Young, versatile (didn't he play wing back for a bit at Chelsea?), relatively cheap and homegrown.

Obviously a squad player, but we need squad players. There were times last season I looked at our bench and struggled to see anyone capable of making a difference against stubborn sides.

As an alternative to Werner it makes sense to me.

What have you done to Skipp
Skipp is Club Trained Quota
For Europe
You need 17 List A
4 AT max
And CT would be separated Quota
Full quota are 4 seats
If we offloaded him that mean we will register 17+4 = 21 seats max in Europe
that depend on Ange that 21 seats are enough or not?

If we do that, the moaners will be out in full force the very second a first teamer gets injured and someone from the academy has to step in.
The same moaners that will appear when the academy lads move on as they aren’t getting first team football.

Edit: Sorry, off topic. Don’t want Hudson-Odoi, would rather we look for another option.

Werner doesn't cut in enough. Odoi cuts in too much. Both would be squad players. At the same price, I think Odoi might just edge it, but I'd rather take a risk on younger player like Savio at Girona. It's a luxury position for me, as I think we have our starters already - especially if we buy a £££ CF.

Savio has signed for Man City.

Also don’t agree it’s a luxury position. We don’t have a single wide player who is top quality on the ball and strong in 1v1s. It is absolutely essential to Ange system that we fix that.

He's 23 years old and has shown a clear willingness to knuckle down after a whirlwind start. He's been undeniably impressive for Forest. I see the logic here.

I totally missed this! Damn! I guess it's a City Football Group thing.

Personally I would like to see Son back on the left side and Kulu/Johnson right, hence the lack of prioritising that position. Son beats people, Kulu too. Johnson swings a boot at stuff but might come good. Odoi as Son's understudy wouldn't be such a bad idea, I have my doubts about his ceiling though. If Mitoma were younger, I'd love him as the understudy, how about Bardghji?

They just don’t though, nowhere near enough and it’s proven by the data as well as the eye test.

Deki can’t play wide, he’s way too slow and can’t beat people consistently.

Son can do it occasionally but his close control isn’t good enough and he loses it too easily too often. Also he’s going to be 32, his explosiveness is declining.

We badly need a first choice wide player who has explosive acceleration and combines that with good technique and dribbling ability.

Spurs regain interest in Nottingham Forest’s Callum Hudson-Odoi

  • Winger was offered to club by Chelsea last summer
  • Postecoglou out to bolster squad for next season
David Hytner

Tottenham are considering a move for the Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi. The 23-year-old was offered to them last summer when he was surplus to requirements at Chelsea only for Spurs look elsewhere. They ended up signing Brennan Johnson from Forest on deadline day for £47m, with Forest taking Hudson-Odoi for a cut-price £3m.

Spurs’ opinion towards Hudson-Odoi has changed after a fine season at Forest and they have him on their wishlist for what is expected to be a busy summer. The one-time jewel of the Chelsea academy finished as Forest’s second-top scorer with eight goals – all of them in the Premier League. Were Forest to be tempted to sell, they could expect to make a hefty profit.

It is no secret the Spurs manager, Ange Postecoglou, wants to strengthen his attacking options, having seen them stretched by injury over this past season when the club did not play in Europe. Their schedule will be swelled next time out by a Europa League campaign after the fifth-placed finish in the league.

Postecoglou lost another winger signed last summer – Manor Solomon – to a season-ending injury in September. He counted on the captain, Son Heung-min, Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski and the January loanee Timo Werner in wide areas. Richarlison, nominally a No 9, also played on the flanks. Spurs have yet to decide whether to take up the £15m option to make Werner’s move from RB Leipzig permanent.

If true then there's no chance we plan on taking up the Werner offer.

Son, Hudson Odoi and Werner is too much

Personally I'd rather CHO to Werner. But a top TOP winger and CF would need to come with .

Really think he’s a poor fit for us and we will regret it.

That said if he’s instead of Werner, it isn’t a disaster.

If he’s meant to be our main winger signing though then we are in for a hell of a long summer.

I don't think he will fancy coming back to London so soon as he's developing nicely at Forest.

Been doing some more research into his stats this season, and I saw that he had the second highest xG overperformance of any player in the league this season.

It would be nice to have another winger outside of Son who took shots on and had strong finishing instincts. It was the biggest thing missing for us this year.

He also underperformed his xA by 2, again proving he was creating good chances too that the players around him weren't finishing. His tendency to cut in definitely bothers me, but if the powers that be believe he can be coached to take players outside, he has all the attributes to be effective in Ange's system.

For £25mil could be smart businesses for HG numbers and squad balance.

What are your thoughts? Apologies if you have already provided
Honestly? Whilst we are definitely going to need numbers in, unless they are significant improvements on what we have I'd rather promote some of the very highly rated youth options regardless of their age. Signings wise I'd rather 2 or 3 in of real quality that will bring the level of the starting XI up, than 5 or 6 that'll just pad the squad out. I'd rather see 3 new £50mil players plus Tyrese Hall and Jamie Donley for example than 5 £30mil players blocking their path. I'm not convinced Callum Hudson-Odoi is a significant upgrade.

Instead of Werner ok, but I think thats a close call.

But as our main winger signing ....surely not.

Decent player and maybe a decent option off the bench.

But as others have said certainly not the answer to completely light up out attacking options.
