If there is so much uncertainty over Eriksen, I’d rather we just bit the bullet and got rid. We cannot add only one of GLC or BF, then find bids come in for Eriksen after our window closes and sell, thus ending up back where we started in terms of squad depth.

I think there’s a whole merry go round yet to kick off.
Now Utd have gone big on Maguire, will they need to recoup by selling someone, Pogba maybe? If he goes to Real, then Eriksen may no longer have anywhere to go, and maybe stays with us, or maybe with Pogba moved, Juve may then come in for Eriksen and we can work a Dybala deal.

Key is to make sure we improve the squad. Not getting someone alongside Eriksen (or his replacement), is standing still, and doing that last summer meant we went from slipped from 3rd to squeezing into 4th on goal difference.

I’d like to see Sessegnon come in now, because I think if we play the waiting game, we’ll miss out. Also someone like the young Chilean Forward we were linked with, someone who can play up top, or slot into the WF role. £4.5m release clause, could be a late deal that takes very little effort.

I don’t really understand this notion that Man U have to recoup money? They’re caked in it. Yeah they might need to move players out due to squad restrictions but not because they need doe.

Have the Portuguese media gone quiet on this? How were things left from their point of view?
Last report was that Fernandes had a meeting to say he wants to leave and the Sporting directors were having a meeting to discuss it.

Wonder why we’re not in for Madison, prem proven and had the highest chances created in the league last year. Strikes me as a very similar player to Fernandes in terms of play, positioning, striking of the ball from long range and set pieces.
He’s a prick

The thing is Eriksen is quite likely to go after next Thursday's deadline and there is absolutely no way we are going to buy both Lo Celso & Fernandes while Eriksen is still at the club.

Agree with this. Puts us in a really difficult position.

So all the talk from Dan Kilpatrick is that it's Lo Celso or Fernandes as the replacement for Eriksen. Will be extremely disappointing if thats the case: if there isn't another addition to complement.

Would show a real lack of ambition.
Yeah that would be poor. I could see the club signing one of them and the 'fax machine breaking' when it comes to the other late on.

It's not ideal but i'd rather that than be left with only one of the three.

It's not likely he's going to sign on at this point, so I guess it doesn't make any difference if we get Fernandes now or next summer. So with that being said just push for both and whatever happens happens with Eriksen.

In the case of all 3 being here i'd personally leave Eriksen out of the team since we won't need him and he won't be committed. Hopefully that would force him out the door for some sort of fee in January, as I doubt he'd want to be sitting on his arse for a year.

Fuck knows what happens if he turns around and says he wants a new deal afterwards though.

The thing is we can’t not afford to buy both (in football terms).

But financially however it’s going to leave us in a serious predicament if we have both on the books. Any team coming in for Eriksen will know that we want rid. It leaves us with no bargaining power.

The only way I can make some sense of this, from Levy’s prospective, is that we already have some sort of agreement with a club. But if that was the case I would imagine it would be all over the media hoping that another club interested comes in for a bid.

It’s going to be quite interesting how this all plays out.

At this moment in time the best thing we could do is try push him out the door. If we go ahead and buy both BF & GLC it may send a signal out that Eriksen is available.

One thing is certain, he's gunna go quite cheaply.

Makes perfect sense to me. We've been told we'd go for LoCelso regardless of what Eriksen does and Fernandez looks like preparing for life after CE. Expensive but necessary. We bagged a heap of cash last season and the vast majority of transfers are paid for over a few years. Add that to our record profits and we might just have the required funds.

CE knocks on Levy's door

CE: Wow boss! After all these years you've finally shown real ambition by signing not two, but three top midfielders. Fair play - I'll sign on the dotted line like we agreed.

Levy: Umm, about that Christian...

I reckon that we get GLC, and if Eriksen doesn’t go by our deadline, meaning we can’t get Bruno, we keep him and he sees out his deal. I don’t see a situation where on 01 September we are left short.
