Indeed. I just don't think the Dybala transfer was ever really close. We'd already broken our transfer record for Ndombele, along with the Sess and Lo Celso transfers. Seemed inconceivable that we would spend big again in the same transfer window - not unless we sold someone like Eriksen, which obviously didn't happen.

Think it was actually really really close. And consumed weeks and weeks of negotiations. So agree to disagree there Dax!

Yep agree to disagree Stoof ! I don’t doubt we were interested but as I said, spending £70-£80m on Dybala on top of what we’d already shelled out on other players never seemed realistic IMO.

Listening to Simon Stone, and he is backing up Herc's info, seems all up in the air. Also mentioned a big agent is involved

Assuming we all think/know that BF the second Portuguese mentioned by Dragon?

Reckon it’s Semedo personally. Makes even more sense if AC Milan are interested in Aurier. Valverde getting sacked though will no doubt cause issues

My thought was Semedo too.
ITK suggests mid twenties, Semedo is 26.
He’s a Jorge Mendes client, and we’re being led to understand that he could well be our preferred supply of players.
Barca were rumoured to be ready to let him leave in order to make space for someone else, but will a change of manager change that.
There was a story online about us looking at both Semedo and Umtiti, Barca prepared to let both leave, that would make a whole lot of sense if Vertonghen is not being offered a new deal. Having another natural LCB, and with plenty of French influence, perhaps easier to settle in.

Could it be Joao Mario? ITK said we are looking at midfielders. Joao Mario is still under contract with Inter. Maybe he's part of the Eriksen-Deal.
Mid twenties, portuguese international, midfielder, quite experienced.. ?

edit: not saying Semedo would not make sense

Don't think it'd be hush hush for him, personally.

Joao Mario is on loan at Moscow. They have an option to buy.
