Breathe some life into the Cult of Bruno with this nugget. No mention of us and probably being used to put pressure on Yanited....

But this crumb of non-connected information is all we need!

Seemed to me that we used our 'interest' in Bruno Fernandes in the summer to back Betis into a corner over Lo Celso. It always seemed to me that GLC was our priority and Fernandes was a fall back option. Not at all sure we have a space for him tbh.

The amount of snobbery that still goes on about signing Jack Grealish is unreal. Pay whatever you need to get him in. This season has shown he's just as good as Bruno Fernandes, in my opinion, because he's been doing it in the Premier League at a pretty awful Villa side .
Criminally under appreciated player and he's English so will help with the homegrown quota.
Couldn't agree more. Was furious we didn't buy him in the summer.

I thought updates in the "Transfer Rumours" forum was meant to be related to players we were actually linked with... now? So if Leandro Damiao was the buy a new cat, I wouldn't expect to see it as a newly updated thread here.

Must have it wrong.

I’d be quite happy to see the Damiao thread bumped tbf. Like a reunion with a long-lost friend.

Take your point, though.

I’m not so sure. You’re probably right but a midfield three that fluctuates around:
Gedson
Sissoko
Tanguy
GLC
Bruno
Defensive midfielder

Really is a fine thing. Though I suppose much depends on Winks and his future. He’s looked more energetic and lively of late but he isn’t the creative force of GLC or BF

I was of the view that the ITK last summer alluded to one midfielder coming in if Eriksen stayed, 2 if he didn't.

Well it appears he's off, and with Lo Celso coming in, there's yer one, could be argued that currently Gedson Fernandes gives us our aforementioned two.

100%

Pretty sure ITK suggested this in the Summer.

Cannot for the life of me see this being us getting involved in the transfer “saga”. Financially, positionally and tactically it makes little sense to me unless I am missing something. We have at least theee positions that require more urgent care and attention

Bet levy would spend the money in a heartbeat if it meant royally fucking over United.

Really! Levy has royally f**ked us over many times by not spending! Why do you think we’re in the shit we are now?
I very much doubt Levy has ever bought a back up pair of draws incase he shits himself thinking it was a fart

Levy's no fool. He'd just turn them budgie smugglers inside out.

Sounds like a club on the continent - if true at all.

How the hell do you fit Lo Celso, Ndombele, Alli and BF into a team? I just can't see it...

As much as we're lacking a bit of creativity without Eriksen, Lo Celso has started to have a big impact, and Ndombele will surely improve our attacking/passing game once he's in the side. Talented as BF is, do we really want to spend another 50-60M of our limited budget on an attack-minded midfielder, when we're absolutely crying out for someone to shield the defence, better fullbacks and a backup for Kane.

I think the only way it would work both positionally and financially is if we sold Alli, BF took his place and we lined up something like this next season:

Son Kane BF
Ndombele Lo Celso
New DM
Davies Sanchez Toby New RB
Lloris

There's absolutely no hint of us selling Alli though so frankly I just don't see how we can make it work

Why is there more hand-wringing about this Fernandes now? We've failed to bring a striker in since Kane went down how long ago and people think Spurs are going to magically bring him in this late in the window?
