This is over isn't it. He's off to Man U. They'll just pay up.

Most likely yes, however I believe personal terms have never been an issue with a Bruno transfer, it's the fee that Sporting don't seem to want to budge on. It is possible that Utd's contract offer now is too high for us to match even if we want to however, so may well be dead for us regardless.

Bruno commenting on the bottom of Gedsons Instagram post..... obviously translates to "I'll see you there mate"

Only messing, dont know what it sais. Love Bruno, gutted that hes evidently most likely going to united. Really, really wanted us to sign him....quality player and a perfect Eriksen replacement. Gutted.

I think if any business was showing interest in purchasing another and going through due diligence it would have been going on behind the scenes for a while. Villas existing owners would have been looking at Grealish as their safety net and having a sale lined up should the takeover fail. Would assume they would have delayed at their end as they had the knowledge the sale was only necessary if the take over fell through.

Yeah that’s a fair point.

If they’ll “just pay up” then this transfer would’ve been long over

Not with Woodward. He refuses initially to pay the price but is so shit at negotiating he ends up paying it in the end. Drives Man U fans mad. He did it with all their summer signings for example.

Well, it still means we need an Eriksen replacement.
Perhaps the hope is that Ndombele and Lo Celso can provide the creativity going forward. It's not often you get a like-for-like replacement... we've seen world-class players like Modric and Bale move on, yet we've still progressed as a team after they left

Agree that you don't see a like for like but think Mourinho in this instance is looking for something like that. Lo Celso is being mooted, not sure I see him as a ten, but eh, horses for courses.

We didn't miss the boat, we brought in Pochs first choice in Lo Celso ...

We missed the boat with Dybala - though i appreciate the image rights were a sticker. My point was more that we agreed terms with dybala, but still didn't get the deal done (for fair enough reasons) - and the point here is that agreeing personal terms isn't a guarantee it'll be done

However, i feel in this case, given united's desperation for a midfielder, their likely to seal the deal

ITK seems to think we have a deal for Eze in the pipeline. He'd take a while to get up to speed IMO but I can't see us getting Eze and another high profile Eriksen replacement. Jose seems pretty sure that Dele plays that role now although obviously different to Eriksen.

We need Lo Celso + e.g Fernandes if Eriksen goes.
Not just Lo Celso.

Lo Celso is a Alli back up though? I have seen no indication that Mourinho sees him playing deeper as a number 8. By all accounts Bruno Fernandes is a number 10 also - so why do we desperately need him?

Not if Jose sees Dele as a number 10 (which he clearly does) plus we are likely getting Eze in the summer. Bruno would be nice but he is not really needed.

Yeah well I guess I'm going off my personal opinion that I don't really see Lo Celso playing the CAM role. I see him as an 8, but also with the potential to play the 10 if the main 10 is out. His characteristics doesn't strike me as a pure 10, he likes to get about a lot and link up play in various areas
