If we are not clinical enough (which we aren't) then cant 'This is the way we play' be questioned? Hoping that rinse and repeat gets us better at it when some of the personnel isn't going to get us there is going to end in regular frustration.
To me it’s you improve the quality of those attacking players and it’s why you can view our transfer dealings in the summer as disappointing as we really didn’t improve the top end aside from Solanke. City get away with it because they have the attacking players to take their chances and mitigate the chances and goals they give up. Ange won’t change. And I don’t really want us to change, other than being more clinical

I would say the chasing back is more energy intensive than the pressing.

Our players in particular the full backs look completely fucked after 50-60 mins.

It's also difficult defending when you are sprinting back facing your own goal.

He had Gray and DJ that he could have used?

You don't bring on Sarr and Bissouma to win a game, they should have been brought on earlier if we are showing signs of tiredness.

Poor management of the team, Ange was outdone by a manager half his age.

Remember we had Dier, Sanchez, Emerson and Davies in our backline at one point and they looked more solid than the shitshow of yesterday.

Our last 4 games prior to international breaks..

Wolves (A), lost 2-1
Fulham (A), lost 3-0
Newcastle (A), lost 2-1
Brighton (A), lost 3-2

I recognise a pattern here.. are you slightly preoccupied. It suggests so..

to be fair on paper that’s a tricky enough fixture list as all of them are away to decent enough teams. Doesn’t make it any less annoying though, I had a gut feeling that we seem to always be going in to an IB on the back of a loss so thanks for confirming it.

Your sense of reality.
Perfect! Now I can enlighten you on your limitations. There are many aspects of that game that contributed to our loss, but the principal reason for the defeat against Brighton is solely down to the players, not the manager.

The same players who were great in the first half were the ones who cost us the match in the second half. Just read the comments and articles after the game from journalists and ex-pros, where most of them clearly highlight the problem being the players not taking responsibility. This is the reality that was there for all to see, which you are struggling to understand.

It’s been clear since day one that Ange has only one style of play. When challenged on this, he has made it clear that he will never compromise. Even at the time of his appointment, he said this is what you will get, and that is what we are getting. You must be naive if you think he did not warn them at half-time that Brighton would come at them.

The fundamental problem was the execution of the tactics, along with commitment, desire, and individual errors. This is the reality of the problem.

Take their third goal as an example. It was from a throw-in where Rutter had the ball and was surrounded by three of our players. He got past them because there was no desire or commitment to stop him. This was immediately followed by Bentancur's lack of desire and commitment to stop him. As this was happening, Romero and Porro watched as Welbeck, who had desire and commitment, responded by running between them unchallenged and heading into an empty net.

You’re entitled to your opinion, of course, but you tend to use your opinion as if it is fact. You don’t like being challenged because you think you know “football.” Just look at your immediate response to my comment. The first thing you said was, “Get out.”

If you can’t see the reality of what was unfolding before your very eyes, then maybe you need to “get out” to Specsavers. Either way, you’ve just been educated.

I shall leave you with a quote from one of my favourite movies, 2001: A Space Odyssey:

"Trix, this conversation can serve no purpose anymore. Goodbye."

Apologies if this is common knowledge but i found this after the Brighton game and for me at least, goes a long way to explaining the ‘Spursy’ feeling even when we‘re a few goals to the good. I wonder whether Conte and Mourinho had also discovered this fact during their tenures?

“The collapse at the Amex was the 10th time that Spurs have lost a Premier League game in which they led by two or more goals, at least three more than any other club in history.”

After a few days I feel able to contribute!
We weren't as much on top as we thought...we could have had 3 but second goal was lucky and Welbeck should have scored.
Could easily have been 2-1 HT.
We were fooled by how easy we won at Old Trafford, that's the worst I've seen them in years and sending off helped us big time.
We should have been ready for Brighton come-back, first goal I thought with a little more effort Porro could have stopped the cross.
3rd goal was many errors but there is no excuse for Bents not booting it out.

We should keep bumping this thread just in case any of us get too keen or arrogant about where we are in our development as a team.
