Our inability to pressure teams when behind is laughable.

I’m more annoyed at the fact we had 30 minutes to win back the game and didn’t do a thing.

We never do game management. At 55 I’d have Kulu going down for three minutes and Ange coaching the players, like Arteta does.

What other team plays like that a goal behind with 30 minutes left. One half chance.

And wait for the IG posts from the players next. I wish they would take a leaf out of Johnsons book and cancel them all. Shower of wasters, the lot of them

We were fantastic first half. But the problem is that as soon as things get difficult Ange is unable to react. He Prefers to shake his head on the sidelines and leave it to the players on field to do something about it. We will keep getting results like today, does not matter if we give him millions to get the players he want. He’s just too stubborn to admit he needs a plan B

The thing that hurts me the most is i thought at HT - “this is it! We’ve clicked and we’re going places now”.

so so disappointing

Listen to Wellbeck talking about the impact their senior pros had in the dressing room at half time. This is exactly what we are missing and have been missing for years!

Simply not good enough. Lack of any kind of resistance or ability to dig in when the oppo take it to you is a real concern.

Off the back of that, we look like a boxer who can dish it out and when on top and can KO anyone in front of him but as soon as the opponent fights back and drags us into deep water, we completely fold. That 20-25min spell was probably the worst I've seen from us in a long time.

Just so disheartening when you see we still have that level of capitulation in us. Losses happen but one's like this where it looks like the players don't know what they are doing and it's more hope that you don't concede really leave you questioning things.

I love Ange and am fully behind him but fuck me that was terrible in the second half - terrible from the team and terrible from Ange for not doing anything about it for far too long.

Despite the result and second half I still believe we are making progress. The first half was really good. Not many teams pull Brighton apart like that at the Amex. At least we're creating chances again and moving the ball much better than last season. I think we are improving from natural learning and drilling of the system in training. Creating the amount of chances like we are, if you swap Werner for Odobert, Son, Richy etc they capitalise much more on those kind of opportunities.

The problem I find is that whilst we are executing the system better, you can't learn to deal with these sorts of scenarios in training. We really need to learn when to play the occasion, especially away from home. I know there's talk of mental fragility but I didn't really see much hiding or safe football out there - the players are just doing what Ange has told them to for 90 minutes. But that style doesn't lend itself to taking the heat out of games, and in many cases, it only fans the flames.

If you have good technical players on the pitch like we do, then play some keep ball, and keep the full backs on a leash until you've weathered the storm. Maybe we will learn that with time, maybe we won't. Perhaps Ange wants to perfect plan A before working on alternative but time will tell.

Eventually i'd like us to develop a system that starts from pure control with little focus on chance creation to full on Ange's style of football. If a game state changes for the worse, get your control back and then gradually start to up the tempo. Now given that we have 5 subs that switch can usually involve making a sub, but even if it doesn't you can just keep your full backs on a leash for 5 to make a massive difference.

We have a top 4 squad but not a top 4 manager, he is to stubborn with his one and only style of play, today was just one of many games we have screwed with Ange in charge, sooner he goes the better, I have given up now, expect mid table with Ange…

Spurs has been a cushy place to play for decades now. To quote Harry Kane, seen muttering to himself at one game, "what's the fucking point?"

We were so good first half. We have to when the dust settles see the positive. It's how we can improve in game scenarios and that only comes with time and more time

Worst start for 16 years! Shocking. I think Micky and Destiny went into panic mode. Reminded me of how Micky was at Newcastle.
We really should be doing better with these players. Ange must get his act together. The substitutions were far too late today.

Needed changes earlier imo. I'd have had Udogie and Werner off for Spence and Moore. Quite what bringing Bissouma and Sarr on at that stage of the game was supposed to give us I have no idea.
Biss should have come on at half time for Bentacur tbh. He was chasing shadows in the first half and was pretty sloppy on the ball.

Can we also disband this so called ‘leadership team’ of Romero, Maddison and (ok, not playing but still) Son?

Not a true leader between them when the chips are down
Yea I do agree with that, I don't think they're strong leaders tbh.

We've lacked strong leaders at Spurs for many many years now tbh.

Agreed but you learn more in adversity than in strength. Fucking annoying but the lack of stepping up from players is equally galling.
