And it's suicide playing 4 fullbacks.

So compromise. Cut your cloth accordingly. If you don't have the players to play a system, don't play it for a game or two. Have a plan b.

At least we would stand a chance.
He is what he is - he doesn’t compromise on his system. Only time will tell if that will yield results for us.

Kulusevski was really disappointing today. He needs to deliver more consistently if he wants to be a nailed on starter. He has too many games like this.

He's run himself into the ground recently, he wasn't great but far from the worst. Son was the worst player on the pitch, Sarr was rubbish, Porro was well below par. No one other than Vic played well. Just a really bad day at the office to be honest.

I just wonder if a lot of our bookings etc are coming from the urgency to the win ball back as quickly as possible

People blaming our defence when the first goal was scored by the player Son was supposed to be marking and 2 penalties given away by our No. 10's at the time. Hopefully no one is blaming any of our players for the other goal which was a worldie.

we will never win anything with a defence like this
NEWS FLASH ...we don't ever win anything anyway....

Ange needs 2 more windows to get us in a fit state squad wise. Our First XI is great but we haven't seen that for many, many weeks

Ange got his approach massively wrong today but he was also very limited in what he could pick from.

There are at least 8 members of our first team squad who are not only not good enough but not even close to good enough.

I enjoyed Veliz's cameo and glad he got a goal. Hojbjerg was unlucky hitting the post. Can't say we don't get into promising positions. Richy scored two offside goals and hit the post himself.

We gifted two needless penalties away. I fully expected to concede a few due to the nature of who was at CB, but aside from maybe the first I can't fault them for any of the other goals.

Son was as poor as I have seen him. Have seen people dig out Kulu, he is probably knackers considering he plays the full 90 running up and down more often than most.

Thought Vicario and Udogie were our best players. Richy put away two offside goals and was getting chances, so I am confident going forward with him up top for now. Johnson offered more than most when he was on I thought.

Don't think Hojbjerg was maybe as bad as people may have you believe either.
Probably the best post to sum up the game.

Indeed, will take some time.
yes, the old luxury of time. My old man was lucky enough to see Spurs win the double in the 60's & he desperately longed for another title before he passed last year. So you see, time is not really something to take lightly. Whilst we wait to strengthen, more sport washing happens and more clubs suddenly get wealth and start winning stuff. But we will have to endure as spurs fan & keep waiting for the right time to invest I guess

We had no midfield for most of the game. Sarr was way up the pitch, hojbjerg was very deep and kulusevski was missing all together.
when we got near the penalty area we just overplayed everything trying to walk the ball in. Lost count of the number of times we could have taken a shot but tried to play in someone else and the chance was lost.

"There are no grumbles from me with the penalties. They were clear and obvious. It's amazing that VAR picks up everything apart from a tackle that maybe puts out another of our players."

Presumably Ange is talking about Dunk. Was that even checked? I can't believe that wasn't a red when you see what players get sent off for nowadays.

The key for us next season is to get a really big squad full of players suited to the football. This is why I think Ange needs to be throwing in the youth players more which might mean less needs doing on the transfer front next summer.

The bottom line is that we are a work in progress. The problem may lie with our expectations rather than what was displayed on the pitch. Sure the display bordered on pathetic at times but when so much of his system is dependent upon skillful execution and so many missing starters, it really isn't a surprise that games like this are going to happen. The real surprise to me is how fast we gelled out of the block which is what drove all of our heightened expectations.

I agree with the principle, I just don't know if having the trawler boat that is Dier hinders more. I definitely agree we need to compromise a little on the high line.
