Relieved to get a win and a clean sheet was a bonus, but in truth I'm maybe more worried after that than I have been yet. We're just so poor in the front third and outside of Solanke I can't see how it improves in the short-term. You can't have any gripes with Mikey, the lad is 17, but not sure how Werner and BJ coming back into the fold changes things much (other than BJ might have scored the far post tap-in Son didn't make the run for. Almost all PL team we have played of late look much more potent than we do generally. Let's just hope things do indeed pick up and renewed confidence and energy is enough to see is regain some threat.

Davies needs another contract. At the end he was the one wanting the players to get together. Leader. Team player who doesn't whinge or moan if not playing.
Agreed I’ve done a 180 on Davies. As the squad gets younger players like him are more important to keep around.

That's the thing, our front 3 are so poor (Richy is still not fit but even when he is is not a patch on Solanke) so it is our football that has to create.
Could you imagine Jose or Conte ball having to create with football and not having Kane and Son to bail them out

That for me is why the balance is skewed towards attack as the intelligence in the final third just isn't there (again outside of Solanke) that's why we are scoring lots but conceding lots.

Played it perfectly with our (obviously) tired bodies.
They allowed us to have quite a few rest periods in the game which helped.

Lol to those that want Frank to be our manager. (Must be long throw lovers... 🤷‍♂️ )
I don't get posts like this. Most managers play to the strengths of what they have. If you think Brentford are a team that rely on long throws and corners I don't think you've watched them enough.

For the record Frank wouldn't be that high on my list of managers to replace Ange, but I understand he has a fraction of the budget we have and he has a pretty decent functioning team. If we had a player with an exceptionally long throws would you not want him to use it? It's as good as a free kick or a corner when taken from the right area. You'd be nuts to not utilise it if you had it imo.

If Brentford fan, I’d be embarrassed by this defeat. They had every possible advantage they could get coming into it, and should be favorites to win. Looks like they just expected to show up and we would fall over. As we’ve been doing!! Glad they had an off day and we showed a wee bit of grit!!

But you aren't a Brentford fan so who gives a fuck!

Sorry but seen plenty of Brentford and and that brand of football is not for me. He's had long enough to get the players he wants to play the football he wants.
So I can only assume that is the football he wants to play.

More expensive long throwers aren't gonna make much difference ;)

you are saying play the football he wants to play yet we saw how that worked for southhampton and burnley last year. You can't play expansive city like football on a beer budget, it does not work

Just read an interesting post elsewhere pointing out it should be Son’s goal. It’s on target and takes one deflection

So are we saying Frank is completely going to change his style at a "bigger club" or with a bigger budget?
How will we know he will be successful with a different style?

Couldn't believe Brentford are the highest scoring team at home. Fancy this team keeping them out.

The first goal was precisely the sort of stroke of good fortune we’d been due in the league for a while. The performance was the sort you need to gut out some points when you’re low on confidence and form.

A long way from being some vintage performance but it was what we needed. Well done Ange and the players for showing a bit of maturity and adapting to the task and circumstances.

Udogie has been defensively very poor this season.

I was raving him about last season so hopefully it's a blip.
I think with Udogie is that he is the only left back and has been flogged. We now have Spence who can play there and Davies at a push but we do need to get one in the summer imo to be able to rotate a bit more.

Archie Gray - the way he is devoping and progressing is insane. At this rate probably the future club captain and maybe even England.
He is fast becoming my favourite player at the club. Just calm, composed, good weight in his passing and confident in his own ability.
