PPV is weak nowadays but as long as people pay then poor events will be PPV.

The tournament final, Chisora vs Parker and Burns vs Selby isn’t the worst card.

I am assuming the Burns fight is on the card.

Yeah the Burns fight is on there, as is Okolie. It's a good card but not PPV worthy IMO, but as you say if people pay it then they'll keep doing it.

Watching the KSI vs Logan conference, very embarrassing... High school insults being thrown back and forth. Actually had to stop watching.

Fury won that handedly. Just a dominating performance. One of the judges scoring that 116-112 was very flattering to Wallin. Really a 118-110 type fight. Only chance Wallin had was the physician stopping the fight over that deep cut on Fury’s eye. And he knew that as seen in him dragging his glove through the cut during a stoppage. Fury’s cuts guy did a good job keeping that swelling down and cleaning it up after every round. That thing was BLOODY.

Mate got me tickets to the event. Actually prefer that Price will take on Chisora instead of Parker.

On the surface, yep. Reality can be different. Some fighters are better carrying extra timber. Fair few have actually lost something when they’ve lost weight and trimmed off a bit of a size.

I do think Ruiz could do with losing a few lbs for sure but nothing silly. I think he’s losing either way

There's a weird thing in boxing - you can be ripped, you can be skinny or you can be an absolute unit but you can't be "average" anymore. Joe Bugner was "average" looking in his later years, that era was full of dad-bod boxers or guys with absurd barrel chests and a chin for days - I know there were others but the first I remember noticing stand out because of his physique was Bruno but now there's this definite pie n chips body category that just isn't marketable in boxing, regardless of how good you are.

Reckon Joshua will be working a lot on combinations this time around, cos ones and twos don't seem to really rattle him, but I don't see the fight lasting longer than 4 rounds if AJ's on his game.

Thing is, look back over the years at all the great heavyweights, hardly any were ripped/shredded/hulking etc

Fighting has never been about muscles or how you look. Ruiz proved that perfectly, something which I actually enjoyed seeing! The casuals all in shock because the ‘guy with big muscles lost to a fat bloke’

Joshua just needs to keep it long. Double up the jab and throw the odd right hand. Nothing silly, bore the place out if needs be. Ruiz is very inconsistent and I think he can be frustrated. Joshua fought like an idiot in the first fight, if he can’t make the necessary adjustments he has no business at that level anymore and might as well turn it in imo

Decent card.

Benn looks better with each fight but only moving towards British level. Nowhere near world level. Slow progress is all he can do.

Okolie is really boring to watch.

Price caught Chisora with a really good shot but looked scared of Dellboy. He wants to earn so might fight again but from a competitive point of view he is done.

I felt both points decisions went the wrong way. Burns outboxed Selby and got in the better shots consistently.

Felt Taylor was more aggressive but Prograis shaded the rounds. Very close though.

Great finish and fair play to Canelo, thought he needed the knockout and was 3 rounds down. Any other fighter would have been 3 rounds down to be fair but turns out Canelo was actually two rounds up on two of the cards!

Gonna need to knock Canelo out to get a draw thesedays.

Not sure where he goes from here? Kovalev was obviously the easy touch at light heavy but it’s still a big achievement no doubt. Canelo would get beat up against the other champs at that weight and cruiser is obviously far too big.

Smith at super middle would be nice but not sure Canelo would fancy it too much. Obviously unfinished business with Golovkin no matter how much Canelo tries to rewrite history ( he lost the first fight absolutely and the second was razor thin, probably a draw ) but then again GGG is old and not the fighter he was. Technically Canelo doesn’t need him but anyone who knows a bit knows the real situation between the two.

2 great fighters no doubt (Canelo & Golovkin) but those fights leave a sour taste in my mouth and I think since them Golovkin has lost a bit of spark and possibly love for the sport as for me he 100% won the first fight and deep down knows he wouldn't get a result from Canelo unless he stopped him.

Shame really that boxing politics ruined what should have been a generational trilogy.

I think Golovkin left it all a little too late. I think we’d seen the best of him before Canelo 1. Makes sense seeing as he was mid 30’s by then.

Canelo is quality fighter and I enjoy his skills but there’s plenty not to like unfortunately. Namely the favouritism he gets and of course, the drugs. He’s a drug cheat, no question whatsoever.

It’s why part of me would like to see him in with Beterbiev. He’s no shop worn Kovalev. He’s better than Kovalev ever was. The boxing fan in me doesn’t want to see it though as I think Canelo shouldn’t be at light heavy and it wouldn’t be competitive imo. Would hand out a lesson though!

I’d love to see Smith really go after him and call him out. Canelo’s last two weight jumps have been clear hand pick jobs, avoiding the top men at each weight and simply title grabbing anything vacant/held by a weaker title holder etc
Smoke and mirrors and all that

I agree, i was a big Canelo fan on his come up and he is no doubt a very talented boxer but as you said its hard to get behind a cheat and someone who powers that be will always get behind, i think he would be competitive at light heavy but i think someone like Beterbiev would destroy him.
