Also....

We can all, deservedly, hammer Aurier and co. for appalling delivery from wide areas, but if they did get it right this still won't equal goals. Virtually every time the ball goes in what is the picture you see? Kane lumbering about a yard or two behind where he can score a goal, Lamela is occasionally up there and will throw himself at it largely unsuccessfully, the rest are nowhere to be seen, and it's at least half a dozen of the oppositions defenders ready to clear it.

If we fix one thing, the rest is still pretty broken. If the tactic is to overlap down the right and get a cross in, where are the runners? For what seems to be our primary source of attacking, you'd think we'd have numbers ready to get on the end of it if by miracle we did complete a cross. Again, it's just a lack of attention to detail tactically. We must sort it out.

As some others have said it's easy to blame Mourinho but he has inherited a poor, poor side. This side was poor under Poch but since we loved him so much we kinda let it go. The Champions League run (how we made it to the final, though brilliant, is beyond me) glossed over it.

If the side was not so poor Poch would still be there now. He asked to be backed and Levy will not take a punt and this is where we are. Poch could see this team had run its course. He publicly said it twice and still nothing happened.

Can we blame Mourinho for his team instructions when our team can't even do basic passing?

This team is spent and no manager is going to turn that around unless he can make some better signings.

How on earth did VAR not overturn that penalty Man United just won and didn't dive the penalty on Kane.

It is an absolute joke and is seriously in danger of ruining the game. But at least they will eventually be able to bung another advert in there while the referee goes over to view it

Do any of you guys don't get it? POCH ISN'T COMING BACK. (note: Maurizo Pocitteno maybe will..) We've moved on!

I liked the man as much as you, but I try to move on with the club. I agree that the football hasn't been as enticing for a few months as it has been in the past, but no amount of whining changing things. Sorry guys.

What's that got to do with Spurs being denied a pen? All the top teams managers do it. I haven't said you can't have a pop about any of that.
It’s the fact that we should be able to beat that Bournemouth team comfortably. If we’d beaten them 3-0, yes we could say it was a penalty, but it wouldn’t have changed the outcome because we did what we should have done. The fact that it was not given and changed the result just shows how poor we were for the rest of the game, it’s an excuse when it shouldn’t be. To say that performance was good enough to win the game when you don’t have a shot on target indicates he is moaning about a penalty (which might not have been scored anyway). Take responsibility for what followed.

Some people would also debate whether or not Jose remains a top manager (he has been).

Much as been made about the bust up between Lloris and Son on Monday. Yes, modern footballers have to be track back. But it is perverse to have a player like Son playing defence. He is a runner, a worrier, a terrier of opposition's defence. Now he forgets how to dribble, how to shoot. This match, Kane has more touches in our penalty area than Bournsmouth,s. This is no way to play football. Full stop.

Sorry mate. I wasn't attempting to dismiss Poch's whole Spurs career. I was simply pointing to those who say bring him back as if that will solve our problems.

The players are the main problem

I'm 41 too mate :)

The Poch years were brilliant but the last 9 months, lucky Champions League Final aside, were piss poor.

I'm just questioning why a lot of people are suggesting we bring back Poch when, in my opinion, the manager isn't the problem. Its the players.
Its both.

The squad as poch said is in desperate need of a refresh. The question is who would you trust with the rebuild.

I have utterly zero faith in mourinho ,none whatsoever. Would I bring poch back? Probably not. We don't have much money so I'd go the superscout/dof with young manager route.

I hate to say it but im really jealous that lot got arteta. Look at the difference he has made to a far worse squad compared to jose.

I just don't like the trend of knocking poch. He was amazing for us.

It’s logical thinking. Get the team defensively solid by getting into tactical shape - not parking the bus. Quickly move the ball to attacking players. When the attacking player can’t bloody pass the ball a few yards or run into traffic without looking up or create anything - I simply won’t blame Jose. We have too many attacking passengers. Lamela is not good enough. We have no one in the Bruno Fernandes type position. The goals against Ajax and Man City were all long ball lumps. We had not won an away premier league game since Dec 2018 since Mourinho took over. He can’t change a team complete in about 4 months giving away his main creator. I will not blame Mourinho. He has not been able to get a single player in. A season or two is a fair crack of the whip.
Tbf there is no one to pass the ball to because everything is so narrow. We are relying on aurier to provide width when we have son, lucas and bergwijn who can do that job.

Honestly that pen against villa has pretty much broken my love of football and I’ve got £50 on villa going down

Because the VAR's job is to prove that the ref makes the right decision all the time, not to overturn bad ones. We should all know that by now.

Just the players?
[/QUOTE]

Yes, In the main.

Mourinho hasn't become a shit manager overnight. He went to United and won more than any manager has since Ferguson. That was only 2 or 3 seasons ago.

In a previous post I listed 9 players to keep. The rest are dispensable. Jose has the biggest job in his managerial career on his hands and he's only just started so I'm prepared to give him the 12-18 months to try mould a new squad.

Fair enough with all of that - he still has a right as a manager to bemoan it. It was early doors and he is on point - only backed up by the traversty of a pen United just got awarded in their match - it again effected the out come of the match for us.

It's a pen.

I'm not telling anyone not to have that view, I do question the idea that Jose shouldn't again highlight the poor decisions that go against us. We're allowed to have a moan as a football club.

I wonder if these people are the same with ex-partners. The amount of folks with restraining orders on here must be insane
