No, we have a pop for the 85 minutes that followed and no shot on target against a side with one of the worst records in the league. The non-penalty is just a distraction from the real issues, we should be able to win these games without bemoaning a 5th minute penalty.
What's that got to do with Spurs being denied a pen? All the top teams managers do it. I haven't said you can't have a pop about any of that.

We all will remember the Poch era with good memories. It was a great few years.

But let’s not blame Jose completely for what we are seeing now. The last 9 months of the Poch era was very bad indeed. We were much worse than we are now. The team needs a pretty big investment and several players moved on. That does not happen overnight.

Agreed it does need investment. But what was it, was it our team that needed investment because it went stale or was it our manager that needed changing? I don't think it needed both... And think Poch deserved an opportunity to oversee that rebuild...

It’s logical thinking. Get the team defensively solid by getting into tactical shape - not parking the bus. Quickly move the ball to attacking players. When the attacking player can’t bloody pass the ball a few yards or run into traffic without looking up or create anything - I simply won’t blame Jose. We have too many attacking passengers. Lamela is not good enough. We have no one in the Bruno Fernandes type position. The goals against Ajax and Man City were all long ball lumps. We had not won an away premier league game since Dec 2018 since Mourinho took over. He can’t change a team complete in about 4 months giving away his main creator. I will not blame Mourinho. He has not been able to get a single player in. A season or two is a fair crack of the whip.

You want a season or two???

We were not worse than we are now on a consistent basis. We looked tired. Now, we just look shit.

Don’t let the champions league final gloss over the fact that we had been woeful under poch for a long time. We got to the champions league final through luck rather than playing well.
Its the champions league final, I'd let it gloss over someone kicking me in the bollocks.

You say awful but he also got top four last season. If awful is top four and champions league ill take it.

Hes gone and were 10th.

Given that we're categorically not going to "sell the lot of them" as some would like to see - what's it going to take to re-motivate these players next season?
Not mourinho. a young hungry manager with some enthusiasm for football.

Sorry to take it away from the match here but this has to be said.

The man got us challenging for the title, made us top four regulars, finishing above the scum and reached a champions league final. No revisionism there. I dont know what era you grew up in but in my 41 years on earth pochs era was my favourite (I was too young for the 84 win).

If you dont want him back thats understandable as he looked a beaten man in the end but he deserves the love he gets from so many of us.

Sorry mate. I wasn't attempting to dismiss Poch's whole Spurs career. I was simply pointing to those who say bring him back as if that will solve our problems.

The players are the main problem

I'm 41 too mate :)

The Poch years were brilliant but the last 9 months, lucky Champions League Final aside, were piss poor.

I'm just questioning why a lot of people are suggesting we bring back Poch when, in my opinion, the manager isn't the problem. Its the players.

Tbh. I just like us to find a formation and style of play

and then players that fit to it

and then a team that gels and worked together

players that care.

Actually that list is pretty damning and fundamental.

atm I really couldn't tell you what our shape is and then obviously who fits and plays where.

I mean what is Son's best position. Where should he play? Does he work well with Kane?
Same for Moura and Bergwijn? It just doesn't fit/work

Alli, Kane and Son have proven they work well together. No question on that. The difference is out full backs don't support them and the team is more defensive loaded. 2xFBs, 2xCBs and 2xDMs means we only 4 players threatening the opposition. If our FBs could genuinely attack then it would balance it more.

Midfield needs to be GLC, NDombele and either Winks/Sissoko/Skipp. Give them 5 matches to find some rhythm.

Our problems lay deeper than our choice of manager...

Put any manager with Levy and this group of players, barring the customary honeymoon period, we will be back at where we started...

Absolutely this. Poch got screwed by Levy and even said 18 months before that the squad needs refreshing.
