A lot of people saying he's too similar to Ndombele.

From what I've seen of him, I can see some comparisons, both very good in tight spaces technically, progressive passers and like to dribble. But what sets him differently is his aggression at winning the ball back, he seems very energetic and would be a good player to have to cover space and screen the defence.

His issue seems to be discipline In playing himself into trouble. I would honestly be willing to take that risk because I think his positives outweigh this.

Currently we have Dier and Winks as deep mid options, yet neither cam cover spaces quick enough nor are they aggressive enough to spot danger. Our midfield lacks energy.

We may lose goals because he dribbles when he shouldn't but at the same time we stop more shots as he's able to cover more ground.

Lastly, him and Ndombele could dovetail, Soumare pushes, Ndombele drops - vice versa or you could play both ahead of Dier and have Soumare be the link with Ndombele responsible for breaking the lines further up.

Would give us more possibilities than what we currently have.

Our MF lacks positional discipline and a calm passer of the ball that will receive in any situation. We have (injury aside) sissoko and winks for en energy. We need authority and a passer

They gave him a lot of time to pick his pass there. I don't want it enough to know if that's a feature of the French league or not

I just don’t think the french league is a good barometer of a player. The quality really isn’t very good on the whole and the players are so expensive for what you get. I won’t go through the examples but just look at all the players we’ve signed from the french league and there’s a load of them already.

We need somebody to step into the team now. Would this bloke be able to do it? I doubt it.

I disagree, I think he walks right in to the starting XI, especially with Ndombele and Sissoko out - although the standard isn't high at the moment. Dier and Winks have not convinced anyone that they're our solution in the middle of the park this season. He's young and plays in Ligue Un so I'm not surprised he has skeptics just like Ndombele did when he burst onto the scene in 2017/2018, but like Ndombele I think he'll prove to be a top player - he certainly appears to have all the tools.

Assist today.. Osimhen also looks like a fantastic talent. Would love him as the Kane backup/wing forward rotational guy

I happened to be watching this live last night on BT sport as I wanted to get a better look at him. He's a nice player and I'd like us to sign him but trust me, Amiens are not good and there is a real lack of intensity in Ligue 1 which I think is why Ndombele has struggled to adapt with the physicality in the Prem.

Osimhen looks good too but the defending for his goal was amateurish at best. Again, would be happy for us to sign him too but I think we'd have to temper our expectations a bit.

I would just rather sign a player now from Germany, Spain or Italy where the intensity, mentality required and quality is higher. There’s less of a jump to make. By all means go for this guy in the summer, I doubt he’ll be moving this window. All these reports are the classic noise before a summer move.

Hard to judge a player when they are in the opposition's half and the nearest player to them is 10m plus away! Does clearly have a pass in him but wonder what he'd be able to do getting closed down and with no forward running or space in front of him?

Wasn't there talk of one of those young Portuguese DM's going out on loan with a view to a permanent? I think he's currently out of favour with his manager.
I've no idea who's available out there, to be honest.

Love the look of Soumaré but don't think he's what we actually need right now - Florentino Luis is what we actually need - Someone who will provide protection to the back 4 and get stuck into tackles with precision timing and excellent reading of the game. Soumaré seems to be more of a technical version of Sissoko - a dribbler who can transition the play, quickly. What we actually need is a Kanté and a tackler who reads the game and breaks up play - We can make do with Sissoko for the moment for quick transitions up the pitch. It's Wanyama we need to replace.

That said, Soumaré is an outstanding talent and if he's available perhaps we should be in for him regardless - and especially given our connections with Sacramento.

Florentino looks promising but note that he's only played 15 times for the first team. The video you are watching almost certainly includes lots of youth games. To say that he is what we need right now in the Prem is a little optimistic to say the least !

...someone like him - someone who can nick the ball off people and break up attacks. A Barrios, an Ndidi, a Kanté, someone who ruffles feathers. Peak Wanyama is what we're immediately missing and in need of.

Doesn't have to be Florentino Luis - but he looks good to me.

"The report by the Daily Mail goes on to report that while Soumare is likely to leave Lille this month, the French club are keen to hold on to him until the 26th of January when they face PSG."
