Does he have a path to the first team open to him? He is only 20 after all.

As said, remain to be seen if we value him at that price. But we do sign 50-60m players now and pay up to £200.000 in wages. Sums that will only grow going forward. It's where we are financially now.

He's not employed by Lille as far as I know, but I think he has a good working relationship with them.

As he is still their DOF I hope that he does still have a good relationship with them, despite us wanting him to do the same role for us! :)

If he’s being brought in as what Jose refers to as a “positional midfielder,” i.e. a No. 6, he could realistically make his way into the first XI immediately. Our options there are woeful.

He had better be worth it.

There’s no one who would have a better idea of that than Sacramento. If we’re making his signing a priority it must be because Sacramento rates him.
Must be, that's good backing our manager and his number two.

This would be extremely useful because Sacramento will know exactly how to utilise him best. For example, it's not like Poch liking Ndombele and then integrating him into the squad. It'll be much more seamless as they'll give him the same/similar tasks he has at Lille.

I can't say I know much about him but one thing I noticed is his ability to snap at players heels winning the ball back - he's quite aggressive in that respect.

Who currently in our squad does that? Dier should be but he doesn't get about the pitch or close spaces down quick enough.

We are so easy to play through. We need to get back to making teams play further away from our goal.

The one concern with him is his interceptions and tackles per game stats are really low for a top DM. I think he averages around 1 per game on each where Forentino Luis averages like 4 each per game.

Luis’ tackle numbers are just as low as Soumaré’s. Probably indicates his positional maturity though.

Luis 2.9 per games plus 4.1 interceptions. Soumare 1.2 per game plus .9 interceptions. 7 per game vs 2 per game.

Wow I only looked at the WhoScored numbers for this yesterday. Luis seems to have only played a handful of games.

Yeah, what's the story on Luis only playing 575 minutes and 7 games this season? Only made 23 appearances and played 1833 minutes total for Benfica's first team in his career. Concerning.

Yeah, looks like he was hurt and then I think I read something that he and the president of the club aren’t happy with each other?

Is anybody else PESSIMISTIC about winning the race for a player who has as many as 6 offers in for him at the moment?

Mourinho and Levy have stated we don't need to sign players in January.

Ndombele by reports had more offers and he choose us. More reliable La Voix du Nurd said we and United are the most interested in him and he prefers Premier League. Also, he knows Joao etc. Napoli is closing deal for Lobotka and I don't see why Real should be interested in him tbh.
