Actually, most clubs do make their players pay for the shirts if they give them to fans.
I knew this was the case with lower leagues anyway as Cambridge players were told not to swap shirts with Man Utd players because of the cost of replacement.

However, it's also the same at Spurs!
We were told on the stadium tour that it's why you rarely see our players swap shirts or give them to fans, other than at the end of the season.
The shirts they wear are different to what we can buy (different materials etc) and cost approx £200 per shirt.
I guess £200 must seem a lot when you earn £50000 a week

So today the Blackpool fans invade the pitch and stop the match against Huddersfield forcing the game to be suspended (probably should have just given it a 3-0 to Huddersfield)

Peter Clarke, CB for Blackpool, was seen giving a thumbs up to the invaders...

I'm intrigued to see the bloke who invaded the pitch on a mobility scooter.

Well the summer clearout has begun....

Blackpool release 17 players

They release 17 players, offer Jamie O'Hara a new contract (pretty sure he would be nuts to accept the contract) and keep Nile Ranger on because, even though he basically stopped showing up, he is on a ridiculously cheap contract (something like £250.00/wk plus an appearance fee that they will ensure he never gets).

They are down to ten players but that might go down to 7, which is less than than last year. Club is a joke

Fair enough if it happened to a poorly run club but this is one of the most financially secure clubs in the championship

But are they really?!
By all accounts the Oystons have taken the PL parachute money for themselves and invested it outside of the football club.

Check it out
http://www.theguardian.com/news/dat...p-club-accounts-profit-loss-and-the-wage-bill

Only club not to have a net debt and seemingly are owed money

They had one of the higher turnovers though, that is thanks to the the remaining parachute payments

Third lowest Wage bill(this was before they started hiring the second sons - obscure GOT reference to mercenaries)

The lowest Wages to Turnover percentage with only 53 percent of their turnover going on wages

Made the highest profit before tax and one of four clubs to make a profit before tax

As you say the money they have got hasn't been reinvested

Bottom of League 1 with 1 point from 5 games.

Karl Oyston making Levy look completely competent.

Its amazing how the FA or Football League wont even do anything or forcibly the club over. The Oystons are not investing into the club and are using it to line their own pockets, and also sue fans for criticism. Surely that type of horrible mismanagement is grounds for a forced takeover to sell the club to an owner who will actually run the club well and do the right thing and don't sue the fans for criticism.
