for me this is the best, irrespective of a lack of a new DM and despite our business not being completed before the season starts. With a DM, lamela, Ade and Lennon gone ( not because I necessarily want them all gone) poch has his team he can build success with . Exciting times I'm guessing we won't see the best of this new side for a couple of months really hope poch can make it work with his system. COYS

We've been burnt too many times before. Lets just see what happens before we get too excited.

This window was always going to be about setting up the foundation for the next few years, especially with the stadium coming up. Bring in young talent, develop them until the stadium is up and running and we're relatively debt-free, then use the extra money to strengthen gradually. It'll be a rough ride at times, but Arsenal have shown that it's worth the wait if done properly. Strap yourselves in.

Some of us said that in 2013!

You can't judge a window as being the best ever until at least one season has passed afterwards.

We will need to be patient and going on the reactions to our first couple of games that's a concern.

We've only signed two players with more than 1+ years of top flight footballing experience. Trippier, Wimmer, and N'Jie will all most likely be cup centric players and not first XI players for some time. Alderweireld is clearly an upgrade at CB and was brought in early enough to have a good impact on the squad. Son is a very good player, but it'll be some time before he can show his best, and it'll take time for him to come into the first XI. If he's a Lamela replacement, then I don't think this window will be as great as if Lamela stayed, as the latter would give us a much deeper squad to cope with things like Eriksen's current injury. But that's just my personal opinion.

This league is stronger than ever before, we are in 4 competitions (with tough draws in the League and Europa Cups), so what we've done so far is frankly the minimum to keep up and try to hold onto our top 6 place and advance in important cup competitions (which won't be easy). We need further strengthening and I trust Pochettino feels the same way.

Whether they perform is not the point I was making. More the approach, removal of deadwood or addition of pace up front improvements at the back there seems to be a plan this is what I am pleased about. If they are shit or can't perform in poch system that is not really my point.

We bought many decent players this window, but we didn't see some of them playing. Our team won't be better if Poch just put new players on the bench.
What we do to upgrade out defence was excting, but it won't do any help if we still put Vertonghen in our starting 11. He has made too many mistakes from last season and he is in such a poor form. It's time to make him realize that we have other players in competition with him and force him to do better.

I see where the OP is coming from. For me it's been good just on shifting the deadwood that we seem to have weighing us down year in year out. Our house has been swept clean (still hoping Ade goes!). We are a very young team, and I do think we will get better as we grow into the season.

there'll be more dead wood next year! it never ends. we will have to get rid of even more depending on who has a bad season. why does it matter about windows? it's seasons people should be caring about, not bloody transfer windows!

If we can shift Ade and perhaps Lennon then it will be a very impressive job by all concerned. Not least by Levy who has not held out for every possible penny. There is more than one way to support the manager.

Not convinced. If these are players that Poch wanted and he is given time by Levy to develop this young squad this may prove to be a good window in the long term. However if our stuttering form continues and Levy pulls the trigger we'll probably end up with a new manager that would have preferred half the players we've sold to those we've kept / bought.

I remember thinking last summer that despite not making a big signing it seemed like a good window, with players signed for positions where we were weak or lacked depth. In hindsight though it was a dreadful window.

Still think if we don't sign an out an out striker (not sure Son is that and Chadli certainly isn't), we may well look back on this as an awful window.

I think the signings of Toby,Njie and Son mean that this is already out of the question.

If we can get a decent DM, it looks like one of the most sensible windows.... but, yes let's see how well the players do before judging it....
