Following assessment and examination by our medical team, we can confirm that Steven Bergwijn suffered a significant sprain to his left ankle during our match against Burnley.

The Netherlands international will now undergo an extended period of rehabilitation where his progress will continue to be assessed.

Wow. Incredible how "fate" has really turned against us. The stars are definitely unaligned, the chips are down, butter side on the floor with Murphy & Sod laughing at us hysterically. Our chi is gone, the sofa faces north not south for a lack of Feng shui calm and the odds are on the far side of the balancing bridge.

If we finish Top 6, I'd say that was a masterful achievement on the club's part.

Gives the club an opportunity to utilise it’s strength in depth

We've got plenty of cover

To be fair mate every team in the prem would be struggling if they lost their 3 most productive front players at the same time.

Yes we need another striker, but this is not something you could really plan for. Personally I'm more than happy with Son and Berwijn either side of Harry with Dele, moura, Lamela and Gedsen 4th,5th,6th and 7th choice options. The only issue as I say, is there is no out and out CF back up.

This sounds more and more like the old days. Players all getting 'injured' then leaving at the end of the season.

Bad times ahead.

Wow - this is not good. Well if the stars were aligned in our favour last season with the Man City offside and the Ajax winner in the CL run and all teams cocking up to let us in the top 4 door, they are certainly staggering around from a hangover now....

Son and Kane are massive losses, but the only other players we've been without are Foyth (looked like Jose was willing to let him go) and Sissoko (we have cover, and he was having a bad season really). It isn't a crisis like Jose has made out and it doesn't justify playing drastically different systems and personnel every game.

So far, this season, the following have also had extended injury layoffs: Lloris, Davies, Ndombele, Lamela, Sessegnon and GLC.

We usually have only one attacking option on the bench. Tonight we'll probably have one, if Parrott is up to sitting on the bench.

Yeah but at any one time I don't think we've had too many starters out, and most other clubs will have suffered a similar fate. Our lack of attackers is largely brought on by ourselves. It isn't bad enough to moan about and it would be embarrassing to attribute injuries to what happened last night. It was a pathetic, gutless display.

agree - not doing the Fernando deal was a bit odd, seems to be a good influence around the place - wonder if we should be looking at 2-3 players of his profile almost as player-coach type roles and focus the money on younger talent?
