AVB's attitude to BAE is one of the few things that have annoyed me about AVB - I assume he has good reason, benny could be a bit of a liability on a few occasions. Still liked him as a Spurs player - QPR's not good enough for him, but no doubt he'll be happy under Arry

I don't think it's about him being a liability on the pitch. Let's face it, Walker has more fluff ups at the back. I think it's Benny's attitude towards football. AVB is a man who adores football so much that, despite never being able to make it as a player, gave his all to do so as a manager. BAE is the opposite. He has the talent to be a footballer, and a very good one at that, playing Premiership football for a good club. However, he doesn't care for the game and has no real passion for it. I admire his honesty but can see why it would infuriate AVB.

Most overrated Spurs-player ever.
Far from worst though, but just mediocre and loved by many for his off-field LOLs and not on-field WOWs

Just described by Danny Murphy as at one point the best left-back in the league.

A quality player we already miss.

Prone to a poor game, but his consistency improved to the point that it only happened one in ten matches. It's a strange move because he's not the sort of player to kick up a fuss when he's not picked. He's been quoted as saying he'd like to end his career with us and clearly has an affinity with the club. Can't see the point in loaning him out, unless something's happened behind the scenes or we're getting someone in, which is looking increasingly unlikely. There's been very little Baines ITK today, perhaps we're in for him as was suggested towards the end of last week

Sad to see him go. One of the greater characters. even though it's only a loan can't see him coming back.

Good luck Benny. You've been great for us.

If SC had gotten a tenner each time BAE was on the opposition half (or somewhere near at least...), we got countered at and BAE just slow-mo jogged back to help out... - well, just say that Rob would smile.

If SC had gotten a tenner each time Walker worked his arse off to get back and help out in those situations - I think Rob would smile even more!

And that's just one aspect of BAE's game that doesn't stand the test of top-4.

Bad move, he's so much better than rose. Maybe I'm old fashioned by a FBs primary job is to defend, and bae doesthat well

i'll probably get slated as i know a lot of spurs fans rate BAE but he was too lacklustre imo and often out of position however, if we don't have a replacement lined up, counting on rose and naughton is a bit silly.

As opposed to Rose

This has pissed me off dramatically, the guy was injured most of last season, had he been given a full pre season he could have been back to his best. This is stupid, we have Rose whose sole strength is his pace and thats not exactly the quickest, Naughtons not bad but is a right back and now all my hopes are on Fryers.

Rant end, sure AVB has his reasons, but I'm more upset about this then Bale.

If we have not got a replacement for Benny lined up, I will be shocked.

The treatment of him has been disgusting.
touche.
Who would have thought 24 hours ago bae at qpr, on loan, rose as our only LB (at the moment), and rm's coach praising bale's versatility by highighting he's played at LB before....dream move to go and fill in at LB...... are we getting countreao???????

once AVB has lost faith in him he had to go sad but Danny Rose better effin get his head down

It's fair enough if AVB didn't have faith in BAE but that still does not excuse leaving us in a situation where Rose is our only left-back. A player who has had just one season playing in his new position. Completely crazy.

I'm pretty sure we'll end up seeing Vertonghen as first choice LB until January.

Walker Kaboul Chiriches Vertonghen

Isn't a bad back four, I suppose.

Reading between the lines of some things that other players have said, I think it's more to do with his attitude towards training and team ethic.

Which is a shame IMO, cos I luvs Benny.

Devastated with the way he has been treated. Is this how we reward loyal players around here?

I love you Benny, thanks for the memories.
