For me its Tim. The signs are good. The players seem to be responding. Fed up with the big exotic names

I like Tim and really hope he does well. But too many fans hate him (for whatever reason). Van Gaal I think will be able to mould the club from first team to youth and give us a philosophy. Plus interviews will be funny as fuck.

On morale we clearly have at least two players who are struggling with their personal demons, Soldado and Townsend, perhaps a third in Lamela if he was not injured. Vertonghen, a bit like Steven Carr, is sulking because he has reached the stage of thinking he is too big for the club; perhaps Newcastle will come along and rescue him.

Most of the others seem happy enough; how committed they are is another matter. A few, and I am thinking of Paulinho here, might be a bit reluctant to put their body on the line with the world cup coming up. Others - Lennon perhaps - have seen the Spurs managerial merry-go-round turn so often that they know they can ignore Tim because he will be going away soon (I hope they are wrong and that they get a shock.) In the case of Sandro and Kaboul, the heart is willing but the flesh is weak.

For the rest, a few such as Adebayor and Eriksen have kept their tails up, and there is nothing wrong with any of the others that a couple of wins would not fix.

So who is the person who will take us forward?

Push the boat out and go after Klopp. Give him full control of the philosophy of the club, top to bottom, and a 5-6 year contract. Get him before one of the other big name clubs do. Make him an offer he cannot refuse. Allow him to bring in his own staff, but identify an English successor and someone who is very progressive in his methods.

Gylfi so should have put that header away right at the end, just head it back where it's come from, far corner he scores comfortably and we could still be in it.

A shame as we so badly need a break.

Do more posts and I'll rate them a winner on the basis of this post. Infact, I'll follow you and get alerted every time you post! And every time I'll give you a winner!

You will get so sick of my good ratings in the end that you'll stop posting! Then I will track you down where you live and start as a butler for free... I'll even give you my "special treatment" from time to time...

Good on you.:peeking:

On another note, Benfica, Juventus and Porto are all in the last eight of the Europa Cup. That is three former EC/CL winners in the draw and teams we need to be associated with on a regular basis not to mention the likes of Lyon too. They are clubs that think they are big time and take the EC seriously. We should be doing all we can to finish fifth and get back into the competition next year.

Think of how great a last eight match up with Juventus would have been. A big chance missed.

Can't everyone just agree with one thing?

This is Tottenham Hotspur Athletic Football Club. Not Fulham, West Ham or Millwall.

We as a club, charging too many hard-working people, a lot of money to watch mediocre football are gaining nothing.

Why are we still subjected to sub (sic) standard performances?

Again.
Fuck me. I've just drifted onto someone else's website. Where will I find a site that refers to the club I support, Tottenham Hotspur Football Club?

Yeah, unfortunately for you this forum has a search function. You've been slagging Soldado off since the end of August. The most complimentary things I could find that you've said about him were;

But it only took a few days before you were back with

Or, damning with faint praise...

Nothing about Adebayor's miss, though. So I'm sure you didn't bother to slag him off, like you would have done to fit your Soldado agenda. Here it is, 00:58 in. http://www.itv.com/sport/football/a...ague-report-and-highlights-spurs-1-3-benfica/

The thing is, the chance he had tonight is the sort you'd back an in form, confident striker to score, or at least hit the target. But because Sherwood benched him every game since he scored against Cardiff (which was a very well taken goal - funny, I couldn't find your apparent praise for that) and has only given him 23 minutes since then, he hasn't had the opportunity to get any kind of form or confidence. Hence why I'm prepared to give him a bit of leeway on it. So I'm sure you'll understand why I say that had I not seen tonight's game and only read your post, I'd be none the wiser about the actual chance because you'd slag him off regardless.

Soldado's had some bursts of brilliance, including that goal against Cardiff, but he's been cac at other points including missing several embarrassing sitters. TS has to get results so how often can he put Soldado out there, especially if he's electing to play 1 up front?

Chadli really starting to impress me. Thought he was superb first half vs Arsenal and v good again today. Inside left of the fwrd could really be his position.
Yes, he seems to be starting to blossom these last few games. I saw his debut in the friendly against Espanyol along with Soldado's and Paulinho's debuts, it was him that caught my eye the most then, after that he slipped off the radar a bit. TS said the players have to play for their futures and it looks like he's doing just that.

Would prefer Guardiola, he's got better hair.

I was at the match tonight. Good atmosphere from our fans. Poor turn out from the benfica fans. The stadium was only half full.

Very disappointed with our 1st half performance. We needed 3 goals tonight yet we didn't manage a shot!

We was much better in the second half. I had £20 on 2-1 Spurs. Couldn't even win a bet! Few more Super Bock beers should sooth my misery.

Good on you for making the trip mate especially considering the first leg score, I bet it was a good laugh though

.....a lot of fans hate, full stop!
i cant see any manager being with us long enough to mould anything... i would like tim to stay with us and supporters be big enough to give him time. but i am pessimistic. i am heartened by what we did tonight, nonetheless.

It was to be fair. We was singing away in Rosio square from 11am this morning.

I know we didn't have our strongest team tonight but i still expected a few more efforts on goal.

What is it about this guy exactly that makes him this Messiah everyone perceives him to be? Look at his record.

He managed Barcelona in the late 90s and won stuff but fought with everyone. He failed to qualify with the dutch national team for the 2002 World Cup behind Ireland and Portugal. He then took Barcelona to within in 3 points of the relegation zone and left. He then joined Ajax and quit after internal conflicts. He joined a mid table dutch side AZ and won one trophy in 4 years. He took over Bayern Munich and after a slow start won the double in the first year. He was then sacked after another slow start in the second year. He is now the dutch national team manager.

Seriously wtf has this 62 year old guy done in the last 15 years to show that he can change the culture of a club from top to bottom. His career has been filled with internal conflicts, slow starts and a lack of results. We seem to be star struck because of his exotic name and his "I don't take crap from anyone" demeanor which doesn't seem to have worked anywhere. And now we want him to come to a new league which is the toughest in the world and to a club trying to breach the top 4? Sounds like a typical Spurs fuck up waiting to happen. Fuck him.

Back a young tough passionate coach like Tim any day of the week.
