Are you serious? No I mean it - have you ever played the game before? The way this young side controlled the game against such quality opposition showed EXACTLY the quality of the game plan and motivation provided by the coaching team.

Also, the come back had almost nothing to do with Eriksen. Kane provided the ariel and physical presence up front that gave Chadli the freedom to pick the ball up and drive. Kane set up the second goal and Eriksen help us keep the ball. It almost seems like people like you want Sherwood out no matter what happens on the pitch.

Well done Tim Sherwood. He has done a fantastic job in just 3 months. I hope he is given the chance to stay and build on this team.

He should change his name to Shervinho or something to get people like you on his side

That's bollocks!

So then he can be fresh and incisive on Sunday when we play a quick Southampton side so that people like you wont be complaining.

I won't be complaining as the league is dead for me. Today was our only game to get something out of the season.. Oh wait, you don't still think we can finish 4th do you?

I have played the game, and was playing in the 4th division until I dropped out for university, if that matters (which it shouldn't). But yes, I am serious. Eriksen should have never been put on in that situation, it was a dumb substitution. As for the change in tactics, Chris Ramsey shouting from the sidelines seemed to be due the credit for the changes we made in gameplay.

As for his name thing, I'm assuming your one of those individuals who thinks that people pick on Sherwood because he is English. That is not it, at all. It is simply that he makes some baffling decisions and I do not think there is enough evidence to believe that he has was ever ready for this pedigree of job at this point in his career. He could be a good manager in the future, but I do not think he is ready for a job of this level yet, psychologically, and ability-wise.

In the end, my point still stands. Eriksen should not have been brought on in the 75' in a match that was all but lost. He is one of, if not our single-most, important players. If he ever were to be put onto the field, he should have started.
Got to say, beyond the free kicks, and about four good halves, can't see what the fuss is with Eriksen. If you're talking pure ability, he's not fit to lace the boots of Modric or Van der Vaart.

Wouldn't call it fantastic by any means. First few games in charge we saw a bit of fight but its been much the same as AVB's tenure - lots of possession, no creativity and capitulation.

I cant see him being in charge come next season and to be honest, I wouldn't want him to be. We need stability and experience in the dressing room and he offers neither.

Well I look at it differently. AVB had a full season to understand the club and he had Gareth Bale. We finished fifth primarily because Bale carried us. He had all the new players (the purchase of whom he presumably sanctioned) for a full pre season but by December it was clear that he was not the person to take us forward. And I'm not talking about some vague concept of non adherence to the attacking tottenham way. But the obvious lack of man management ability and the lack of tactical flexibility when playing in a league and with players who were clearly not suited to his tactical set up. Levy did the right thing by sacking him.

Levy then brings Tim in because he trusts him and Levy clearly knows him after being around the club for so long (well done Harry for bringing Tim in). With a bunch of players he barely knows, Tim then identifies over THREE months what needs to be done to take things forward. He has clearly laid down the law and the players seem to be responding to that. The performance today shows that we are moving in the right direction.

If people think that if Van Gaal had been in Tim's shoes we would have been fighting for the title by now they are truely deluded and have never played football or managed a bunch of people before. Keep Tim. He is the way forward

Yes I wonder whether Tim might be tempted to start him at the weekend.

He should previous performance and reputation for an other club aside, soldado has been v poor for us this season. he has had plenty of chances and not done it, time for kane to have a chance

Now that the season is practically over for us, Tim needs to start giving more playing time to some of the young ones, giving more confidence and experience. I would include Zeki and Kane in that list of players. Bentaleb is also starting to look more composed. I'm beginning to like him more than I did initially. I think that given more time Tim will be proven right about him.

I can, always looking for the ball, always looking for a forward pass, always trying to pick out runs, he's a positive player and he's technically very good as well, rough diamond IMO who in two years time is going to be one of the best players in the league, you can see his ability.
