The England Under-21 star, valued at £25million, has also attracted interest from Premier League clubs including Tottenham, despite a tough season at Carrow Road.

Another one not good enough for us now but next season Levy will be at fault of not buying him where it was obvious how good he is.

The same people crying we didn’t sign him will be the same ones crying we’re signing a defender from a relegated defence that leaked goals. You can’t win. Jose needs proven defenders. Not more projects.

Like Godfrey think he has a lot of potential. Just don't see how we can look at him now. We have a limited budget and if we are going to sign a centre back it needs to be someone who can improve us. We already have Japhet and possibly Foyth for the future.

We need good leaders and personalities before anything. Godfrey is that, and he has the physical attributes to cope in this league. He's about as good as we could do this summer in my honest opinion.

Unless we sell Foyth? Who I think struggles with the PL and the lack of time on the ball.

I would be very happy to do that, just feel that if we sell Foyth we will be using the funds in other areas.

I wouldn't swap Foyth for Godfrey. For now I'd play him at RB where he plays for Argentina.

I'd sell him. He's missed out on so much valuable football over the last two years. He should have been loaned out 2018 and we'd may be seeing a player who makes less mistakes.

It's going to take another two years of regular football to get those mistakes out of his system, sonething we can't afford and he ain't going to get game time here, especially if Jose is looking for new Cbs and RBs.

If we sell him I think Foyth will become a star elsewhere and if we buy Godfrey he'll be like James Tarkowski or similar. I expect Mourinho will sell him though (the knob).

From what I’ve seen he has all the tools - pace, power, height and technical ability - to be a very good centre half.

Would be a good signing at the right price.

Shame that the right price will be about 1/3 or 1/4 of what he’s worth.

I like him a lot. With his pace and Dier’s ability to attack the ball we’d have a pairing that complemented each other well. I imagine there’ll be bigger fish than us after him sadly.

Yeah, I could see Chelsea going in for him

We're no longer in position to wait for players to come good or worry about them becoming stars on the continent. We pissed that opportunity away and now we need to do what we can in these unprecedented times to ensure we have a stronger squad now.

Perhaps the sort of young player that Poch may have been able to coach, improve and develop. Are there coaches on Mourinho's staff who can do that? Just asking.
