Looks like Maddison and Son are done

Maddison is definitely looking worse than he did at Leicester. He isn't elite and he does go missing but he's better than he is showing, which make me believe the set up is not getting the best out of him.

I know the state of the pitch is considered by many to be a lame excuse but I did think, especially in the first half, that it hindered us more than them in that we struggled to control it & consequently tried to be safer with our passes. Hearing Ange say that as soon as he saw the pitch he decided not to risk Romero or VDV might only have psychologically put more fear into the players rather than encouraging them to give their all.

Who is this set up getting the best out of?

Answer that honestly and you'll know what has to happen.

Yep. Said it in other threads. Bar Spence, Gray, who is coping admirably, and Bergvall who I think would look even better (most of his good work is done deeper and I think he hasn't shown what he can do further forward yet) in a different system, the answer is almost zero.

For the love of Spurs

Who has played consistently well under Ange?

I'm not disagreeing with you they are part of the problem, but I would like to see these players under a competent manager before we make any real choices

I would say our more physical players have done well. Spence, Bergvall. Players who are either quick or strong or both and can beat players in tight spaces. That suggests the system is very reliant on 1 v 1 success to make it work.

Off topic…. What a fucking movie! Would u want Leon or John Wick in your corner? Oldman in Leon was an absolute masterclass as the ultimate villain, Portman equally a child superstar, it’s always a hard question your favourate 5 movies of all time, Leon must be up there, acrually surprises me a lot of people have never seen it.
