A very good win.

Villa is a better side than a lot of people give them credit for. They play like a team, they press VERY well, they got a pretty decent attacking three especially when Benteke is playing, their midfield is pretty effective and Guzan is a good kepper.
Going up to their manor and beating them and keeping a clean sheet is a very good day of football.

COYS!

Happy with that. 2 goals away to what can be a very hard to break Villa side and a clean sheet.

That's why I'm saying, need to see how we bounce back.

First half not great. Second half - a lot better :)

Good to see AVB make some proper changes to the starting line up. Most of us were rooting for Holtby, and for those of you who said Chiriches needs loads of time to bed into the PL, eat your words! Great to see Lennon back, I had a tingling feeling seeing him get back on the pitch.
Anyone who dares to say Defoe over Soldado - come forward or forever hold your peace. Solid performance. We really should of made better use of the right hand side, what with acres of space made by the thrilling Townsend - could have scored 1 or 2 more IMO. Another clean sheet. Oh, and Vertonghen at LB makes so much sense - please stick with this. He made some great tackles (the slides :)) and has the skill to make great use of the ball out there.

BBC say we've equalled our best ever start to a PL season. Considering we got our highest points total last season with a poor start who knows what could happen...

"I think Roberto Soldado is only playing as he is the new buy. I would sooner lay against Soldado than Jermain Defoe.

"Defoe, for me, is sharper and better at linking the play."

Wow....
He's outed himself as a complete twat!

Much better 2nd half but I still think we're becoming reliant on Townsend to dribble past half the team in the same way Bale did last season.

Our play is laborious and the reason we dominate the possession stats is that most of it is side to side in front of our back four.

No Eriksen and Lamela. That is a shame.

But overall it was okay, especially Townsend was very very good and Sandro looked very decent as well.
