I'm confused what I want. Under Poch there were games we controlled with little end product. Now we control no games but consistantly get into goal scoring positions and are let down by poor finishing or porr decision making.
I know I don't want less possession and less passes than Villa. That's embarrassing!

Yes but (as I alluded to in my post) could you see what they were trying to implement? What's Mourinho's plan?
It looked to me like they were trying to get the ball up the pitch quickly so we could use the pace of 3 of the league's fastest players to catch the opposition defence off guard in order to create goalscoring chances.

Which we did, 6 or 7 times, including the won penalty and the match winning goal. Were it not for profligacy, we would've been 2 or 3 goals up after 60 mins and in complete control.

A draw would do quite nicely

Absolutely agree. I’m hoping for that too. Chelsea have been wobbly of late. If they drop points at home against United, it might be a nervous time for them against us in their next PL match (despite us not being on our best form currently).

Just rewatched the highlights and we should've won by 2 or 3.

But I sure am getting tired of the smash-and-grab. Any chance we can actually *dominate* an opponent with everything clicking together?

It will happen when Kane is back and Ndombele is match fit. Kane, Son, Lo Celso, Ndombele and Bergwijn will completely overpower most teams in the PL.

This reminded me of the Fulham 2-1 match last season in fact it was pretty uncanny, playing a relegation threatened team, didn't play particularly well and scored a lady minute winner due to their mistake.

I quite enjoy watching villa' no.21 El Ghazi. He got skills with pace. Good replacement of Lamela

Yeah embarrassing getting 3 points isn't it let's go back to pointless possesion football purely because it tells a good story of how we 'dominated' matches in the stats.
We create more chances hitting them in the break

Why? It means fucking nothing if you don’t do anything with it! Passing the ball between centre backs and midfield retaining it and getting stats up but going nowhere is pointless.

On MOTD they said Engles who made the mistakes for two of our goals as us hadn’t played for 3 months. That’s just bad management by them. There’s a reason teams like us rotate our side and it’s to keep players fresh and ready to step in at any moment. It’s no wonder he was rusty. Good job for us!

Our defending is still a joke and lloris is also showings signs of being hesitant he did the same against Southampton when they cracked the bar, there are lots of individual mistakes occuring which is allowing us to concede lots of goals.
I'm sure Jose will get it right the good thing is we are picking up wins which is no bad thing I just wish son would find his form his general play at the moment has vanished.

There's clearly a style of playing beginning to form there was a couple of passages of quic give and go passing and intlerlinking Def looked like we have been working on that. It's the first time in my memory we have had that level of pace upfront and they are utilising it.

Yet we had more passes than them in the opposition half than they did. Pass it between the centre backs as much as they want. It wont hurt us. As evidenced by the fact we picked up 3 points

What was strange yesterday was that we looked dodgy at set pieces. I've always though that defending those is one of our strong points, it has been at the other end attacking them that we've had problems
