That's the Beauty, i thought the same, especially after we started squandering loads of great chances, but this Spurs just keeps on giving, and I'm Loving it.
Speak to me after a loss and I might have a different outlook.
Looking past that, the games are just great spectacles. There's no lull. We've got 2 modes invite a shit ton of pressure or all out attack. It's fucking spectacular.
Even when we were winning under the great Mauricio, there were matches, especially against lesser teams, where it got boring because the result was almost a forgone conclusion.
Nowadays anyone can rock up and know they have a chance, so they actually play. No one comes to defend against us anymore.
I know it's all about winning nowadays, and i would love us to win a trophy, but there's a certain joie de vive about watching a game on the edge of your seat. I can't explain it.
I don't what I'm trying to say but I'm Loving Spurs atm.

There's some logic to this post although I'd prefer a bit more sense of security.
If it continues like this I'll either have a heart attack or check in at a mental institution before I turn 30 in a year

Probably because we’ve been outplayed in all of them.

our last good overall team performance was Liverpool which we lost ironically.

but winning form is good form so COYS!
You think we were outplayed today? First 30 was awful admittedly but second half in particular was no contest. With even some Championship level finishing we could have stuck 3 more away.

Don’t understand how Bergwijn didn’t get at least a couple. Looking forward to seeing him on one wing and Fernandes on the other. Both strong and powerful runners and with an eye for goal.

Gedson played the best of his career in CDM or CM. It's a waste of his talent to play him out wide.

Make what you will of our performance. I'm just living in the here and now, which allows for celebration for finally being on the cusp of catching Chelsea and top 4, and actually capitalizing on it.

All too often seem to get close to our goals to falter and relinquish momentum.

Fair comment. First half an hour we were battered and could have been several down but we deserved the win in the end.

but Villa were woefully undermanned in defence. So the point remains that wehaven’t really played well as a team in any of these wins.

it will come though COYS!

I agree, thought we let Villa look good, need to be more commanding in these games where we know we have more superior players.

are you kidding me?

he ran rings around us today and was by far the best player on the pitch.

missed the boat with him. Will be in huge demand in the summer.

By staying at Villa he’s actually played a blinder for himself personally. He’ll end up at one of the Manchester clubs on over £200k a week rather than being on much less with us.

He did, and I'm thrilled. Bad penalty that he got lucky. I truly love Son, but his form since he returned has been absolutely woeful, today, before he got the winner everyone was saying as much. I hope this helps his confidence. But he has not been playing well, including today.

*edit* We're used to seeing a Son that not only scores goals, but gets involved all over the pitch playing sublime football. So, maybe it is a bit harsh as I'm judging him by his own very high standards?

Woeful? He scored in 6 back to back matches in all competitions. I'm sorry but how is that woeful form?

I'm now watching the game as been at work but I sneakily saw first 15min. 4 stand out seriously wtf moments.
Aurier, first foul on edge of box when the ball is on the oyher side of the pitch. You fkin twat.
Aurier, second foul 10 secs after the first one. Seriously guy wtf are you trying to do here?
Dier, no pressure sjicide pass straight to a Villa player halfway inside our half. Are you fkin blind? Did you not see him?
And finally the first Villa goal. Blaming Lloris for this one. Started to come and should have but stopped and left Alderweireld up shit creek. Toby still should have dealt with it better but it was a calamitous fk up between them.
That was all in first 10min!

Who would have thought when we got Mourinho in that we'd be poor at the back but exciting going forward?

Another chaotic, ridiculous game of football today.

He’s making the people who said he plays boring football look like right idiots.

People forget how erratic this season's been. From the 'dropping-off-the-edge-of-the-cliff' form from the very beginning, several players not wanting to be here, sacking Poch, an entire team rebuild underway mid-way through the season. So lets just get the wins and play ourselves into form. I think we're likely to be more settled and play better football, next season.

Oh I forgot Auriers high ball towards the edge of the centre of our box on 12 min. Again wtf are you trying to do here? Have you had a punt on a Villa win or something lol?

Great to get the three points when it looked as though we would have to settle for a draw with 93 mins gone !!

It was a really good performance from Bergwijn, and Toby redeems himself with a finish which Kane would have been proud of , but oh my, our defending for corners was the worst I've seen in a long while, almost everytime we conceded a corner Villa looked like scoring from it. That has got to be addressed and quickly.

It has also been said already but we dropped a huge bollock not snapping up Grealish when we had the chance, and today showed us how big an opportunity that was missed.

To conclude, not a vintage performance but we got over the line, and the team's around us will be extremely pissed off that Engels gifted us that chance right at the end to net us the three points.
