BBC News - Mesut Ozil: Arsenal-Manchester City game removed from schedules by China state TV

So Arsenal hanging their guy out to dry and bowing before Winnie the Pooh wasn't enough.

“Ancelotti would be, right now, the perfect answer for Arsenal. It’s very rare to see a top manager like him getting fired in the middle of the season."

Well, actually, it isn't rare. Not even 'like him'. Ancelotti was fired at the end of September by Bayern and five of their players complained about him to the board, and he's just left Napoli with reports again stating there was a 'player mutiny' after their game with RB Salzburg.

So, sure, get him in at Arsenal!

The mutiny at Napoli was against the owner not the manager. He tried to make them go to a training camp and wouldn't allow them to see their families. The manager was on the players side.

He was seen (by the owner - and probably told by his son, too) to not be in charge. Telling them to do it while being against it, but not enforcing it - or resolving it. The owner has money and balancing the books on his mind by the sounds of it, and cheaper to use the break clause than carry on.

"The previous weekend, after a defeat to Roma, De Laurentiis had ordered that the team be sequestered away at the training ground in a sort of boot camp for a week. Ancelotti had said previously he didn't think such measures (known as "ritiro" in Italian) were effective, but he nevertheless ordered them to sleep at the training ground for a week.

After the Salzburg game, the players rebelled, refused to return to camp and went home, leaving Ancelotti and his staff as the only ones to spend the night at the training ground. De Laurentiis was furious not least because his son, who works at the club, had endured a verbal altercation with some players after ordering them back to the training ground. De Laurentiis felt humiliated and disrespected and believed Ancelotti should have been stronger with his players. The fact that he had obeyed club orders wasn't enough; it was felt he should have done more to force the players to comply."

In addition, poor results and difficult contractual situations - not too dissimilar to Poch and Spurs, as they say earlier in the piece: https://www.espn.com/soccer/napoli/...lotti-was-fired-at-napoliand-why-it-was-wrong

It would appear that the BBC Live Text reporter isn't overly impressed with Arsenal's defence...

You have to imagine what Kroenke and co are saying to them about expectations etc.

As long as Kroenke is in charge they are doomed. He'll ensure that just enough cash is invested so that their fans remain interested and then he'll grab the PL money and run. I'd find it sad, but after the years of stick and the fact they cheated their way into the football league, I couldn't care.

Yeah but Ozil's statement is potentially a lot more provocative, or inflammatory, than Bellerin's. Apart from the stupid inclusion of a "#fuckboris" hashtag, Bellerin was just urging people to vote.
Ozil is openly speaking about an issue that, even governments are treading lightly around.

And he's right too. I know that causes problems for his club but I'm getting fucking tired of China buying its way to Concentration camps. We should be putting pressure on players and managers NOT to take Yuen and stop playing out there. It's yet more Sportwashing.

Their following games

Back to back away games - Everton and Bournemouth. Both beaten them in recent years and don't expect Arsenal's fragile mentality to step up.

Then...

Back to back home games against Chelsea and United, could easily be turned over in both (although a goons win would do us a favour).

Then...

Away at Palace
Home Sheff Utd
Away Chelsea
Away Burnley.

That's a really tough run

I very rarely watch that crap, but those comments are funny.

They must be so pissed of with our stadium, and even more pissed off with us replacing a great manager with the most celebrated manager working today.

What’s the point in being depressed about being thrashed by The Sheik Mansour team anyway. Just another three points bought.
