They offered £40m for Zaha who was an established pl player than spent £72m on Pepe that wasn’t which always struck me as a bit strange. Probably could have got Zaha for slightly less than £72m

they might have got Zaha for slightly less than what they paid for Pepe, but would have never been able to meet the payments Palace would have wanted. Palace would have wanted a lot more upfront in the payments.

I'm convinced that Mourinho wants the Spurs job. A few weeks ago I was starting to think he may get it. I still wouldn't surprised at the end of the season.

Come at me. :ninja:
He should be so lucky.

In ten years time he and Levy
would still be arguing over
the small print in his contract.

God I hope not. I think he'll end up at PSG (more praying than anything).

With the squad we have, along with the new and one of the best stadiums in Europe, as well as one of the best training grounds I feel like a lot of managers would love the chance the manage us right now.

How the fuck is that not a handball by Socratis? Bad weekend for VAR when it robs us and rewards them.

They are reviewing the games on SSN atm. That is flat out shocking.
They've made an utter farce out of VAR.
This is exactly what it should be used for, although any competent ref wouldn't even need it for that decision.

They've sacrificed the moments of unbridled joy for the fans and players celebrating, to implement a bodged system of imaginary lines placed by humans to decide if a player is a millimetre offside.
The offside rule was implemented to stop goal hanging, not for this shit.

What I dont understand is why they're happy to undermine the linesman with offsides, but not the referees.

I was all for the implementation of VAR, but not the bastardised version we're using in this league.

As for that Johnny Evans wipeout of Rose... until they bring in the big TV on the halfway line, VAR will continue to be arbitrary.

You've answered your own question. Refs are to be protected whereas linesmen can be thrown under a bus.

I’m interested how Bellerin coming back makes them better. Hasn’t he been part of their defensive woes for the last 5 years ? Will almost certainly have lost some pace as well, which let’s be honest was the only decent thing about his game.

He can run fast which is means you're world class if you're an Arsenal fan.

If he's lost a yard of pace he'll be pretty much useless, but he can't be much worse than converted midfielder Maitland-Niles in any case.

Serious question, is Bellerin really the only specialist RB in that squad?
