Great signing for them for them, IMO the only thing missing from that team and a legitimate challenge for the title is a stronger mentality and Cech is the kind of player they need to make the step up.

Cech WAS a great keeper the head injury meant he lost some of his bravery and his air of invincibility was dented. I dont think he's that special anymore

Quite possibly true. We will see next season where he gets a run of games.

Didn't the head injury happen nearly 10 years ago?? Arsenal have signed a top keeper make no mistake about it.

I think it was a token of Respect to Cech because he has been at the club for so long.

Your probably right, Thinking back I think the W.Gallas back in 06 was a peacemaker for the Cole tapping and transfer, and Diarra went over in 07. Worryingly they are getting themselves organised.

It's concerning that the gap maybe getting further apart again. However it'll be interesting to see if they have the moral fibre to carry themselves through to a league title, their team's probably capable especially with Cech's inclusion but their mentality hasn't been good enough to see them through.

They still have big holes of weakness around their first team and the squad isn't that deep in quality so even at 5/1 I think I'll keep the powder dry.

Looks like they've got Cech. If they get Bezema I think they'll win the league..........tits! :-(

Szczesny is Gomes with Wilshere's personality and without the world class saves.

My arsenal mates all tell me that he can't make a save at all. They all believe if there is a clear shot on goal it's basically a goal unless the shooter misses. They have even shown me you tubes of how bad he he is! To say that he can't make any save at all is drastic... But that's what I hear. They have said all along "if we get a proper goalie it's over 'we' will win the league..." That's there veiw before cech signs.

Edit: felt horrible quoting it like that, but direct quote :/

Arsenal are better than us atm and unless something drastic happens, probably for the foreseeable future. I'll admit that, but so what, We're not their rivals for the premiership. Does the signing of cech make them better than Chelsea and Man city. Maybe, maybe not.
That is no excuse to piss your pants. Let them win the league first before becoming sycophantic bitches. They signed a great keeper. That's all.

call me bitter but this could have gone in the are the cnts slippin thread? the fewer sum threads the better...

every year i try to pretend they have a few holes in the team and wengers tactical naivety to hold them back against the very best. third or fourth, the odd cup, last 16 exit from the cl to ensure they dont win the el. thanks god.

Cech is a good signing for them, not doubt about that. Them challenging is likely to happen too, them winning though... that's the question. They're better than us at the moment, that's for sure, but we can still beat them (I mean we did last year). And I think it's things like that.

Like yes, we also beat Chelsea last year but that felt like a lot more of a one off thing, us beating the Arse felt like that's just how we play (even if we did trail off after that). My point is, Cech improves them for sure but as a team they're not quite there yet. Would still say Chelsea and City are better teams than them and have more of a chance but they're worryingly sorting things out and becoming a lot more stable. Will be (morbidly) curious to see if they actually deliver this time out
