It has to be a wind up doesn't it? Surely? Luiz better than VVD? Oezil better than De Bruyne?

Surely nonsense. Either that he has delusional mental issues

I can see Mourinho at Everton in a month or two
As bizarre as that sounds it may be a good option for him.

He'd have a squad he'd be able to tune into, he's waxed lyrical about Kean and I think the likes of Richarlison are typical Mourinho attackers. They'll put a shift in.

He'd also get to spend the money he needs/wants.

I guess it then depends how far away from challenging titles he feels they are.

His options in the PL are very limited.

United = nope
City = no chance
Liverpool = same
Us = although I think he would jump at the opportunity, it won't happen unless Poch completely loses it
Chelsea = no transfer window and a very young team prob means it won't happen, unless Lampard completely fails.
Arsenal = Would he be happy working under a chairman who only gives limited funds.

It doesn't leave a lot of opportunity for him.

Pepe looks decent
but will he score more than Luiz gives away
is the question I posed on my blog.

Luiz well ahead at the moment.

And how long before
Crapatis concedes a penalty
for holding at corners?

What criteria are you basing this on?
Presumably not your eyesight Jimmy.
'Decent' covers a multitude of sins.

Playing for himself at the moment
but when he settles
he has the skills to make an impact.
For Arsenal anyway.

What have you heard about my eyesight?
Anyway I deny it.

Mourinho has recently said that he doesn't think he will get a job with a team that is "ready". I think he knows that his reputation has taken a hit and for the first time in his career he's willing to take a bit of a step down.

However, he will still want something to work with and some investment. Do Arsenal fit the bill? Maybe. The Pepe deal shows they are willing to spend, but the structure of the deal, combined with their penny pinching in other areas suggests they won't be spending big every summer. They also need one or two new CBs, 2 new CMs, an attacking player to replace Ozil and maybe a new keeper. That's practically the entire spine of the team and there's no guarantee they'll get it right.

Mou is also notoriously bad at bringing through youngsters, and it's promising young players like Willock and Nkeitah who will probably be their best hope of sneaking into the top 4 if they can't buy the required quality.

Someone like Allegri or Ancellotti would be their best bet IMO, but would either of them go there?

Both Allegri and Ancelotti would be better off waiting to see how United and Chelsea do this season. They will get far better backing from their clubs in the market. Arsenal like to look like they want the big players (Zaha) but as soon as they get quoted big they put a significantly lower bid in, that'll infuriate Mourinho.

At least Woodward has some success with big transfers and Abramovich will spend big with no qualms.

I imagine Favre or Nagelsmann would be on Arsenal's radar.

Emery will stay as long as Arsenal is somewhat "contending" for trophies and top four. Kroenke with his "May North London forever be red"-bollocks is all about appearance.

They offered £40m for Zaha who was an established pl player than spent £72m on Pepe that wasn’t which always struck me as a bit strange. Probably could have got Zaha for slightly less than £72m

They are paying Lille £10m p/y based over 5 seasons after an initial £20m down-payment.

He'll be a star in a year or 3. Bags of talent and vision
Sure, the talent is there for all to see. He was a bit sideways and backwards in his first season but has definitely stepped up his creativity this year. He just acts like a twat, on and off the pitch, so he has found the right club...….for now

I'm convinced that Mourinho wants the Spurs job. A few weeks ago I was starting to think he may get it. I still wouldn't surprised at the end of the season.

Come at me. :ninja:

There were rumours a few weeks ago that he was interested, and he has also been to a few of our games recently. Nothing concrete of course, but I am sure it would be something he would be interested in if the opportunity arises, plus of course Woolwich.
Don't think he would go back to Chelsea for a third time, certainly burnt his bridges at Man Utd, and the Liverpool job is maybe closed to him through his Man Utd past and having trolled their fans on many occasions in the past.
