Yeah because they didn't give a shit about the community shield.

Then they didn't have Rodri or De Bruyne for the visit to Emirates and still had a few injuries in the home game.
And because Arsenal cowered in their own half for most of both of the league matches, playing for a point. Well done, you managed to stop them having shots but you weren't exactly peppering their goal either if I remember rightly.

They've gone very quiet, haven't they?
Considering some of their fans were trying to take the moral high ground over their club being a respectable bunch and then realising their manager plays Thomas Partey on a regular basis, I think it's only right they've gone quiet.

When he was confronted by facts about Alonso and Leverkusen (and actually winning things) he then tried to say he never meant Arsenal were the only ones doing it. Arsenal social media is so weird.

Yeah. Arsenal parked the bus in both games, they got the luckiest deflected goal to win at home too.
Away they parked the bus even though city had their whole back line out injured

One thing I was thinking about. They got ridiculously lucky with injuries this season.
They lost Timber (with fairly decent signings £30m PL winner Zinchenko and Tomiyasu as replacements) and Partey (perma-injured/unavailable anyway).

Surely they can’t be that lucky again next year. Particularly Saliba, Rice, Odegaard out for a time and they’re not in the title race on the last day.

What makes that worse is that, never, in 39 years, have I ever heard anyone refer to it as the ‘English Super Cup’.

I bet that pillock counts the Emirates Cup as a major trophy!
It is apparently designated a competitive "Super Cup' by the FA and UEFA. It is, however, a competition historically valued so lowly by Arsenal that their 1971 double winning team opted out of it.

And if it was a draw, they used to share it back in the day as well! It’s a glorified friendly.
