They're a very good team that controls opponents.

Yes they have had a lot of luck with injuries and decisions although the VAR table says they have had more against them than we have .

I hope and pray it goes wrong but sadly with the level of investment their board will make I don't see them going anywhere. Especially if they get their alleged top target in Isak.
That was since it's introduction i think.

they have had some absolute mental decisions go their way this year.

A debate worth having , well discussion as you can't prove it either way is how much of it is due to Arteta going mad at officials post game and during it versus our policy of just accepting anything that comes out way.

It must make a difference psychologically to the ref if it's a 50/50 call.

Unfortunately aside from their incompetence the refs also don't get protected when the likes of Arteta call their decisions a disgrace in the media, so there's little for managers to lose by doing it.

No it doesn’t? We are lower in the var table against them

That doesn't count when VAR doesn't get involved or awards dubious dives/handballs as pens. Just a simplified goal ruled out due to offside etc vs goal given after var review

Actually. I agree to an extent but then just think about this.

They got comfortably knocked out of both cups early on.

They lost 3 away games in CL and got knocked out by a Bayern team who are far from their best.

I don't think Arteta has even made a semi final.

So their league form should be good considering the money spent and how long Arteta has beem there.

If they do worse next season the pressure will start to mount.

And this is the main reason I didn't want us to beat City. Them winning the league would've put them on another level in terms of being the team that stopped City and being able to attract better players. The longer they go without winning anything, the more chance of them giving Arteta the boot / big name players wanting to leave.

And them somehow getting a penalty when VDV made a block, the ball bounced into the ground and then straight into Romero's arm in a completely different direction to the original shot... 🙄
Let's not forget the way Ben "Maj" White assaulting goal keepers with no intent to get the ball at every set piece is allowed, but the moment you fart in Raya's direction it's interfering with the keeper!

wtf? Im certain this isn’t something teams do
Seems a bit over the top ie all you have to do is shake s hand and get your medal, but it is Woolwich so anything is possible.
I had a text from my nephew today (not a Woolwich supporter) who works at Islington council - the victory parade was due to end where they are based, so there is a bit of a flat atmosphere in their office today. Obviously I passed on my heartfelt condolences!

Today's Daily Telegraph (https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2024/05/20/man-city-115-charges-pep-guardiola-exit-title-win/) just shows how completely they've bought-into Arsenal's "We Wuz Robbed" narrative.

Apart from the references to the 115 outstanding PSR charges, they focus on how the presence of Premier League chief Richard Masters at the Emirates on Sunday (rather than the Etihad) spoke volumes about how the football family wants to distance itself from City's continued success.

Put another way, it might also suggest that Richard Masters is a closet Gooner and thereby bring the focus onto how leniently AFC always seem to be treated by the authorities, but that would clearly be a conspiracy theory too far....

Paddypower are brilliant at these pisstakes! :ROFLMAO:

Fucking mad fans. And some people seemingly would have been happy to lose to city and have them win the league and rub it in our faces for years. Can't understand it personally. Imagine having to see pictures all week of their players with the trophy rather than City. Doesnt bare thinking about.
